this is the first review i've done on any gun so i'll try to cover all points as best as i can.

upon receiving my S&W the first thing i saw was the blue abs case with the usual folding plastic hinges and the S&W logo

first appearances
on opening the case the outlay was nice and didn't look ''cluttered'',the pistol looked well made and definitely gave the appearance of a quality gun.
lifting the gun out of the case i definitely got the idea that this gun was solid, well made and a proper handfull but as it is german made you can't expect anything else.

the only thing i could see being a problem would be for the user with small hands, the grip is a fair size and i would think a small handed user would have problems getting to grips with it.

first shots
loading the co2 capsules up and loading the magazine is quite straightforward but do read the instruction manual regarding the capsule loading, the gas is cold and can cause cold burns.

the sights on this gun are very good and you get 3 different thicknesses of foresight blades.i found the thickest blade aided accuracy.the adjustment was quite positive.
if you wish to use a red dot/scope then 11mm/weaver rail adapters are available.

the best feature by far is the trigger, straight from the box it is smooth, light, predictable and very comfortable with its nice broad trigger blade.
i could say its the rekord equivilant in a co2 package?

the accuracy is very good,20 shots all in a £1 coin size circle and would be better with a red dot sight.

conclusion
for around the £100-£110 price mark i'd say this was a very capable co2 revolver and certainly the best co2 gun from the case.

big points are the trigger, sights and the option of having 4'',6'' and 8'' barrels.
the longer the barrel the more accurate it is i suspect but the 8'' barrel would be very muzzle heavy so i'd recommend the 6'' as a start point.

bad points
the chunky grips not been suited to small hands,i'd say there is only 1 bad point........its not available in .357 magnum :D

Hello ikarma70.

So you like it then!

Most of my family have had a go with mine & although I agree that the grips are on the large side, my nephew has used it without to much trouble & he is only 10 years old.

As for the front sight thicknesses, I have played around with them & I find I prefer the thin foresight.

Happy shooting!

I gotta get around to buying one of these some day! Maybe to late for the dirty harry version as i think the 8" barrel is being discontinued!

Been using a S & W Co2 Pistol for several years

Started with a 4 inch for ease of using

Moved onto a 6 inch and scores really improved

Tried a 8 inch to unweldy and less shots per CO2 and no improvement in scores

Yes Grips are large but can be thinned down ;)

The Smith is easily the best of the replica CO2 pistols out there, probably because it doesn't try to pretend it's an auto. I've owned or used most and the only one I've had more than one of is the S&W. I've tried all the barrel sizes too and the 6 incher as Bob says is the best.

i think i have a dodgy mag and shots per capsule issues......25 shots per capsules and 1 shot refuses to launch.

Should do nearer 60 shots per capsule.

the gun was serviced by brocock 6 months ago and has hardly done anything since, the seals where the capsule releases the gas seem ok,i smeared a bit of silicone grease on the seal so i'll see how it goes.

Re. alternative barrels. Give JSR a ring as sometimes they have barrel sets to clear at way less than list price, due, I think, to the way they buy from Brococks. I got a 4" set for £18.95 incl postage.

The practical pistol guys say the 6" is the most accurate (I can get most in the black at 10m offhand) and I can well imagine the 8" would be nose heavy if you don't have hands like a navvy.

BTW 50 to 60 shots would be normal and frequently the last one will not go. Only 25 and you have definitely something wrong.
