It's a newer sexier supa plinker, an improved version of Crosman Nitestalker.
Pic with added Theoben silencer here. (http://gunpix.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=16&pos=2)
It arrived this morning, and was packaged wonderfully. Made by Umarex, imported by Brocock, it was postal taped to within an inch of its life, as is the Brocock style. Took me a while to unpeel it. It comes in a hard plastice piano hinged case, which is nice. The kind of case you could carry a Beretta CX4 around in. Most rifles come in polystyrene and cardboard, so this faux Flambeau is a treat.

Would it be wrong of me to compare the CX4 with the Crosman, at every level? I don't think it is, as they are very obviously two versions of the same thing. Comparisons it is then, but bare in mind the Beretta is 58% sexier and significantly pricier than the Nightstalker. I am unsure of RRP at the mo.
Out of the box, CX4 is very sturdy, reassuringly heavy, in a German rifle kind of way. The body moulding (http://gunpix.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=16&pos=3) has more detail on it, which adds to the style, such a mock shell ejection 'hole'. The back of the stock unclips in order to put a bigboy co2 capsule in, one of the 88gm jobbies. On my Nightstalker, the end falls off occassonally, exposing the cylinder, but I don't think this will happen on the CX4. There's a proper click, and you know it's set.

The sights are same as the Crosman, but without such a mohawk/sharkfin shape.
One peeps through a little hole at the back, and spys the post at the front. If it's all in line, and in front of the target, one can pull the trigger. And pull the trigger. And pull the tri - yes - 30 times, as quick as you like!
B L I M E Y C H A R L I E. I've got a semi.
The mag (http://gunpix.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=16&pos=4) takes 30 pellets, and will chuck the whole lot downrange, one at a time, as fast as you can pull the trigger. Unfortunately it's a bit like skiing down a mountain you've just climbed up - 3 weeks slogging it up to the summit, then 3 joyous leg breaking minutes back down to the bottom. 3 minutes loading 30 pellets, then 20 seconds of joy to shoot the lot! Maybe more mags would be the answer. You could fiddle the pellets in during the adverts, and store them up for the weekend.
The mag is similar to the Anics co2 pistols, chambers on a belt, rather than the usual Umarex co2 magazine. I came a cropper on the 3rd shot, got myself a jam. Whipped the mag out and pushed all the pellets in a bit more with an allen key: no more jams. Once all pellets are in, you push it into the handle, which will always feel sexier than slotting a disc into the top of a gun.
It has a weaver rail (I think), which is a pity, as I have 11mm scope mounts, and wanted to put a scope on. Also, there is a limited gap between front and rear sights, not all scopes will fit. Higher mounts would be an advantage, to raise scope above existing, non-removable sights...else you won't see nuffinks! No 'irons' held on with screws here. I don't mean homosexuals.

Power wise, I haven't chrono'd it, but it did splatter these pellets (http://gunpix.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=16&pos=5).I don't think there is a power drop whilst rapid shooting, the type that you get with (those stupid little piddly) 12 gram bulbs. Don't know how many shots you get out of the big co2 cylinder...200? Certainly more than the 70 or so that you get with (those stupid little piddly) 12gm gas bulbs, and that's as long as you pause between each shot. D'ohhh.

Yes? Lovely big gas thingies? Yes please. To add to the non-review element that I have here, I also don't know the official line on how long to keep a big gas canister in a cx4, before tiring any seals.
I have a dull video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ui3SoOsJKY) of me shooting 30 pellets. Lucky for you, it's only of me and the gun, not the damage it can do. To tell the truth, it's a good indicator of just how many shots 30 is. It seems to go on and on! My arms started to ache before the pellets run out! Luxury. Imagine needing a bit of a rest whilst banging away. Eight shots? Gay. 10 shot mags? Lezza.

I commend it to the house.

Not sure on accuarcy yet. I'm probably not a good enough shot to test!
