About thirty five plus years ago, I became interested in airguns as an added facet to my interest in firearms.

A fellow I met back then also had a similar interest in airguns and we joined forces in creating a "backyard" range of sorts.

It worked well, despite it's primitive nature, and a fair number of pellets found their way downrange, producing countless smiles.

But time, new employers, marriage, and the pressure of life served to table this interest, until just recently, when two old men re-met for the purpose of trying our hands at airgun marksmanship, once more.

Our "new" range was equally as primitive as the first; but it left us thinking that someone out there has created the ultimate range. One that we would do well to emulate.

Anyone care to share a photo or two of their range with a couple of old blokes with more memories than abilities?

i like it ,im stuck in a mid terrace with a narrow 30mtr back garden,my solution was to cut a section out of my capacious shed [ship lap] which i then hinged .inside are various spinners and serious targetry .all richochets stay inside the shed and when ive finished the flap goes down and no ones the wiser.my nbours are great about it once i gave all the nearest ones a demo
even got 2 converts,on the odd summer eve i can hear them popping away .

OK, here (http://img209.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hftrangeqm9.jpg) is my latest HFT course. 20 knockdown targets with kills from 11mm to 40mm at ranges from 8 to 45 yards, I got bored with the standard black/white targets so a trip to Halfords later and they ended up a bit more colourful !!

Thing I cant work out is, why am I still so crap? :D

The answer's obvious, Matt: you spend so much time building terrific courses, that you're left with no time to practice on them! :D

Cheers!

My humble efforts:o http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/kjon51/moto_Johns0008.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/kjon51/moto_Johns0009.jpg Plenty of fun though, 25 yds out in the open or 30 sat on the sofa with the door open:D We save up all the bottle tops, corks, jar lids + anything else that's 'shootable' - cans full of water, Tarian chalks, peppermints, Swan Vestas :) & there's a couple of knock downs over to the side :D

Nice little range: simple but effective. The way all things should be; and often would be, if'n we didn't insist on complication and clutter. :)

I see you have a nice greenhouse handy to catch the ricochets:D
When I was a kid in the early 70's I used to be allowed to shoot squirrels and rabbits in beccy place park and on the golf course.
Happy days:D:D

Nothing new there then.;)
Bet they can't walk up beckenham hill with a rifle without being hassled now.
we used to get on the bus with ours out to keston and farnborough and no one ever said anything to us even when we had rabbits with us on the way back.
By the way we were downham delinquents thank you very much:p

Absolutely fantastic Matt. You are so lucky to have a graden like that. Jeez, you could hold informal comps there. :):)

Andy
