The Beamshot laser attached to the Nighthawk is just a bit of bling - I have never been able to successfully zero the damn thing, at any range! :confused:

Thanks Jason, although I quite like the contrast of the black grips against the nickel.

Strange really, because I really fancied the blued version of the 92FS until I saw them both in the flesh - in pictures, the blued looked so much better, and yet side by side there was no contest, for me anyway.

I've only had the gun a few weeks though, and my tastes may well change over time. It would be cool if someone like Pachmayr or Hogue got to grips (Geddit? :D ) with some tasty after-market alternatives for some of the more popular airguns...

I have to say I do like the gold Beretta medallions on the walnut grips though... why not silver ones on the black grips?

About your laser.
I fitted a Perfectline laser on the Hurricane and it's a good tool in low light at any time or in moderate sunlight with a NEW battery. The damn thing eats batteries. It's staying on the gun but my main gripe is that with short fingers I have to concentrate on pressing the on pressure pad to make certain my aim point doesn't suddenly vanish. I will find a switch or another laser with on/off control and maybe change it then. Zeroing a trigger guard laser can be a real pain since you really need to use a rest and most rests dont have a gap at trigger guard level. Since I used a couple of bits of wood screwed together mine now has one. Worst snag with the Hurricane is that the original barrels are so accurate that the gun is fussy about pellets and you need an accurateley made pellet to get the best out of it.
Problem is that the Hawke red dot is doing such a good job, but as you can see it makes the entire combo a very close fit in a large pistol case.
As far as the Nemesis is concerned I wanted something light as it has to go at the front of the barrel because of the cocking action. The little TV screen red dot from our sponsors is ideal. It looks good and once you align it it stays in alignment.

Yes, Jason, even though I didn't have it in time for the June comp, I hope to start using it for the rest of the comps (in addition to, not instead of, the Beeman SSP), if that's OK with Pad and the rest of the Gang. :confused:

With my scores, it won't matter to my total if a month's score is missing. Or if an extra month is added, for that matter! :D

All I planned to do was take the Smith's off and put on shots showing both sides of the gun but I can pass this to Dragonsinger (Different BBS) who does the target mods for me and see what we get as an alternative. :)
I prefer sticking with the original logo of most things so I do not want to change your work. It stands as a complete piece, besides, the Bunny never steals copyright any work published is fully credited as long as I know who to credit.

I have spent hours today, trawling through google's images looking for a right hand view of the 586:(
It appears there are very few out there:mad: I found one on a Mexican site, but it was from a differing angle. Then I found one on a German site! but it only had the grip and cylinder visible:(
There appears to be a lot, but when you look closely, they have been photoshopped and just dont look right:(
Best thing to do is photograph one from directly above, on a plain (preferably white background) from both left & right sides.
If you can do that, I can then add them to the logo. I would do it myself, but I dont have one:(

I have passed the idea to Dragonsinger and asked him for his thoughts, He lives on the "It's not easy being Green" bbs at http://www.itsnoteasybeinggreen.org/ and they have a Huntin', Shootin', Fishin', section so he's ok with our sport and has done several targets for me. Here's my Arty Farty take on the logo :eek:


The writing is done in a old American Western text, the shapes are of celtic origin, the criss cross outer circle looks like it's from a womans patchwork club, the inner circle colour is very pastel, the outer colour is,, well orange & then you have the three guns.

So to me it's saying.

We're from Texas but our founder comes from Ireland. We like guns, knitting & sacrificing sheep :eek: . Oh we wear pale cotton suits & point to the moon alot. :D

But what do I know :confused: :D

I tried variations of the logo that I put together. Used both revolvers and auto's. Just did'nt work for me. My Favorite gun of all time is the 1911 Colt followed by the original 8inch .357 IMI Desert Eagle.
The revolvers that I used; I chose, because it fitted and it framed the target nicely :) I would have liked to have my fav pistols on it but it just did'nt work how I envisioned the finished product.

But I've finished re-doing the logo and have sent it to Cookie.
If the "MANAGEMENT" or the members dont like it so be it; its cool with me.
I did it for personal reasons, to help me with some personal health challenges. I like it and I'm proud of what I have accomplished for myself. If the logo is fully adopted by the club then thats a BONUS for me:cool:
If not, Its helped keep me sane and has been worth the many hours I have put into it for myself:)

Had Dragonsinger on to me by "Messenger" and he is not impressed with the technical side of our BB since he tried to upload a shot of something he has done for the UBC and the board rejected the piccie. :(
It's been sorted by Paddy and I've been asked to try to put the file up for comments.

This is NOT another logo replacement but a try at a Coat of Arms or Badge.

Sensible suggestions/comments welcome if I can get this to upload properly.

I've already told you my opinion on the coat of arms. Lets see if other people think the same on a certain point ;) :)

As I said to you aswell, it would look good as a cloth badge than our current logo if that was an option. (see I can be sensible & impartial :p)

The way the shield is split reminds me of some african country or other.
My Latin isnt great, but am i correct in saying that "Procesuss" = Process or Progress? "Diem" = Day and "Fabricati" is make or manufacture?
Sorry I dont think I could get along with that.

The shield is bisected "En Parrel" this would normaly be the other way up but if you want to fit the name on it, it needs to be the way you see it. Another name for the "Y" division is a "Shakefork".

The various pistols are all Umarex with the two revolvers acting as supporters. It could have been a Lion and a Unicorn but your club has various nationalities as members and red, white and blue are patriotic enough.

The latin is pig latin roughly, "Processus" Go before me or preceede me. "Diem" Day. "Fabricati" Manufacture for me. For asthetic reasons (to make it look pretty) the Diem fits the central part of the scroll better.

A San Fransisco badge? Yes, read the motto.

As far as the inverted reproductive reproductive biology is concerned they exit the female body at a specific point and there are already enough of those around.

It was clearly labeled as a discussion point so if you want to actually discuss it, please do so. Remember that it was done partly in response to the comments regarding testosterone and pastel suits so sort out your ideas on the image you want to project.

IF the basic idea is sound it can be modified.

I just thought it was a bit overboard being such an obvious statement from the Dirty Harry films.

Think I may have a re-work of the shield idea that I put together.

Cheers Jim, but I made no error;) Jason registered the domain name www.umarexboysclub.co.uk (http://www.umarexboysclub.co.uk) and pointed it at www.ubc.btik.com (http://www.ubc.btik.com) just as I have with my sites on my free host.
Makes it easier to remember than "whatever at what ever free host.com or co.uk" etc.
for example: www.hulldistrict-ftc.org.uk (http://www.hulldistrict-ftc.org.uk) points at my free host but I have hidden my free host name from public view same with www.co2shooter.info (http://www.co2shooter.info) and www.co2shooter.co.uk (http://www.co2shooter.co.uk) (both point to the same site on my free host)
I will repoint the addresses when they are hosted onto a commercial host and nobody will know the difference:)

UBC is a high level name since it drops on prior to the host name, ie www.UBC etc, so I wasn't too worried about it and I told Paddy that you had done something similar to what you said you've done. The SITE name is Umarex Boys Club so everything dovetails nicely.

I thought I had made it clear that the Bunny Bop Target does NOT have TEN Bunny's on it.
My post bag tells me I was wrong:o:o:o

OK for anyone contemplating the target these are the points to bear in mind.
1) Bunny's decrease in size and points value go from 1 (Largest) to 10 (Smallest).
2) There is NO 5 point Bunny. This is so that the points add up to 50.
3) You get 10 shots because most people need at least 2 shots to hit the 10 point Bunny.
4) You need to start at 1 and move on to the next Bunny.
5) You keep trying until you hit the Bunny before you move on.
6) Hit any Bunny twice and you stop scoring on that Bunny. So if you have got to the 9 point Bunny but hit the 6 point Bunny again your score stops at 6.
7) If you run out of ammo your score stops with the last legitimate strike.

No It's not a pig of a target. That one will turn up sometime next year and the personal one for Paddy will drive you nuts.:D:D:D:D

OH Yeah! Jason, I do not think the new members are thick, ill advised and unprepared possibly, but not thick.:D:D

OI if I had to wear a RED cap so is everyone else :p :D (Me personally would of prefered camo but don't tell Jason)
Seriously, the colour of the cap is fine, adjustable size & the peak not too big.

Thanks Jason saying that I'm an 'International Model' I can put that on my C.V :D

We are getting bigger & better, next we'll be selling tea towels, coasters, even novelty mugs soon enough :eek: :cool:

I think the colour's in the Logo go well with the Red Cap, i wasn't to sure on it myself when i first saw it, but then after a few minutes it doesn't seem so harsh, and anyway we are The UBC we want to stand out.:D

Go for the adjustable sights, i haven't got them on my Beretta yet, but they made one hell of a difference on my CP88.
