Another for the 22-250

40gr Nosler BT, 34gr Varget not double flat out but a steady 3600fps and more importantly accurate. (From a 1-12 twist barrel).

And mine.

.17 Rem----23.3 Benchmark Federal 205 Primer 25 grain Berger
.17 Rem----24.5 Varget Rem7.5 Primer 25 grain Berger
.17 Rem----25 VV135 Rem 7.5 Primer 25 grain Berger
.17 Rem----22.5 Benchmark 7.5 Primer 30 grain Berger
.17 Rem----23.5 VV135 BR4 Primer 30 grain Berger

223 ----26.4 Benchmark CCI BR4 Primer 52 AMAX (Hunting load)
223 ----26 Varget Federal 205M Primer 52 AMAX (Target load)

22-250----37.4 RL 15 CCI BR2 Primer 52 AMAX
22-250 AI---- 40.4 VV150 Federal 210 Primer 52 AMAX
22-250 AI-----44.6 VV150 Federal 210 Primer 35 VMAX

243----41.2 Varget Federal 210 Primer 70 Nosler BT (seems to work in all 243)
243----41.8 AA4350 Federal 210 Primer 107 Matchking
243----40.2 AA4350 CCI BR2 Primer 108 Berger
243----44.6 VV160 CCI BR2 Primer 105 AMAX

All Primers used are the Benchrest or Match versions.

Most of these loads are hotter than published data. They all work in my gun using my powder/primers and heads. This does not mean that they will be okay in yours......Be carefull, and work loads up..
One word of warning is the Varget and 70 grain Nosler data. There is a fair bit of data available that states 42 grains of Varget with a 70 grain Nosler BT.
In every gun I have used this load in, it maxes out at about 41.5 grains.
Also the Varget and .17 load of 24.5 grains of Varget works in a standard Rem 700 but is over for my Tikka/PacNor
These are typical examples of dangers of maximum loads not being a good place to start...
Even quickload shows these loads as safe but some of the other loads I use as over pressure.

Great forum Mods...

22-250 AI-----44.6 VV150 Federal 210 Primer 35 VMAX

[QUOTE]
Jeeezus, I did think of trying them as I have some left from Hornet loads

Is there any bullet left by the time it reaches target:D

Reason I stuck with 40grn Noslers was accuracy and quite a reasonable BC from the BT Nosler, have you chronoed the 35s?

As I remember, about 4500 fps.
The bullets were fine but terminal effect was highly explosive on the outer of anything it hit. Marvelous on rabbit and squirrel:D
Not so good on Charlie though.
You can crank it faster with 135, but accuracy fell apart at 4600 fps.

22-250 AI, 36grn Varmint grenades 43.5grns of Vit 135 for 4810fps!!!
I reckon another grain of powder will crack 5000.
Accuracy is around 3/4 of an inch but who cares at that speed:D
Vaporises bunnies and anything else small it hits
Just as a matter of interest i normally operate this rifle around the 3900fps mark with 53grn SMKs

TB.
