I tried to get some brass today for someone who needs 200 loads done.
Nothing available other than Lapua or Nosler Custom. As the chap is rather tight, I ended up getting 200 S&B cases in 243 for £50. Seems like a bargain.

Has anyone on here used S&B brass before. Looking at it,it looks very thick in the neck. I'll get my yardstick out when I get home.

Used it in Hornett and was not that impressed.

Thin brass, in the 303 had 1 case seperate and one crack after only 1 reloading, and those loads were only 5/6ths full power.
Now only use the S&B cases for lead loads.
PPU and HXP lasts forever, some of my HXPs are 10 years old and still going!

I've re-used some cases from factory loads in .243 and .308 for a few years and had no problems with them. The cases have only been reloaded 3 or 4 times though, and my loads aren't extreme, so I wouldn't have expected any problems.

I’ve had some in 6.5x55 and was not overly impressed. It's O.K but it doesn't seem to last long, 5 reloads at the most. Basically it's adequate and not much more.

Bought A Pack Of 20 In .22 Hornet ,shot Ok. When I Came To Reload Them I Found The Flashole Very Tight And Had Difficulty Getting The Decap Pin Through.when Reloaded With About 2 Grains Less Than My Max They Blew Gas Out Around The Primer. I Only Fired 4 Of Them And Pulled The Rest And Binned Them, I Will Stick With My Trusty R&p. I Also Had Problems With A Couple Of Hundred Bought At Bisley A Few Years Ago In .303, The Primer Pockets Were Not Deep Enough So The Primers Were Very Proud, Not Impressed At All With S&b Brass.

Anybody got any idea what Norma .243 unfired brass costs these days.
I bought some a few years ago and paid £8 for twenty, it seemed expensive at the time but it was classed as the best there was then.

hi Eddie.

i was quoted £40 per 100 norma in 243. but could not get any, and then i was told that lapua is getting a bit to pricey too pricey for me.

by the way thank you for the bits mate.

and i met Kev and we had a good chat about you and the things you got up too ;);). only joking.

the 85 gr nozzies have produced a very nice 0.8" 3 shot group to date.
