There are many different web hosting sites out there which you can use, but for this guide I'm going to use Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) as that's who I use.

Once you've created a free account with them you're able to start uploading pictures and videos; the method for each is identical.

The first screen you'll see has this box in it.
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj211/snockster/a1-1.jpg

You'll then click 'Choose Files' and another box will pop up.
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj211/snockster/a2.jpg
Select the picture you want from your computer and click 'Open' at the bottom right of this box.

Your picture will then start to upload to Photobucket and when its completed uploading you'll see a thumbnail of that picture with some URLs beneath it, like this:
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj211/snockster/a3.jpg

You just need to 'right click' copy the 'Direct' URL and 'right click' paste the URL into your thread or post.

To turn the URL into a 'link word' in a post, all you have to do is to highlight the word you want as your link by single left clicking [and holding] your mouse and moving it across the word. Then click the hyperlink icon [http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/images/editor/createlink.gif], clear the text in the box and paste the URL into it and press 'OK'.

Job done.

I use Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/)
Just click on the file you want to upload via the "browse" button, then click "host it"

Then scroll down to the "Direct Image" copy and paste the link into your post.
You may find that the picture you want to upload is a biggie, because of the capabillity of todays camera's "Click on resize image" If you are using XP you can use Micro$oft powertoy image resizer (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx). Then just right click the pic you want to upload and go resize. A duplicate will then appear, but of a smaller size.
:D

If I'm online tomorrow I'll try to walk you through it.

Although just follow the instructions and you won't need walking through.:)

I only wondered !

The ability for the membership to upload pictures was removed last year.
The forum was running very slowly, and was even failing for many, so this ond other measures were taken by admin so that the forum's platform could continue without so many issues.

I hope that clears up and confusion you may have had.;)
