 i recently swapped a Air arms s200 for a logun s16s mk2.

First impressions..

i have to say very good first impressions, and also you cant look at this gun too much- it is fabulous looking :D its tactical and my mum thought i'd bought a sniper, the finish quality is good and everyone who says its heavy is either a girl or a wussy girl. This rifle feels nicely balanced and i can hold it steadier from standing than i could do with my s200, and im 14 ;)and pretty small..

pellet loading, and filling,

first things first get a bottle if you want to get this rifle as it takes forever to fill with a pump but although hard work keep ya' fit i spose. it comes with a filling adapter with a built in filter and you fill to 200bar to get at least 180 good shots. The cocking bolt is effective although a little rough around the edge and it feels as if you could drive over this thing and it would still work. :D:D The other thing is that people say it gets jammed:confused: - bullshizer, this is completly down to user fault and unless you do not push the bolt fully forward you load 2 pellets into the breach. People must be careless or inexperienced with the rifle ( i did quite a lot of research on the s16s before i bought) and it is pretty simple to puch the bolt home feel and hear the click which signifies a pellet is loaded. Pellets wise, accupells seem the best so far although daystate and aa field all produce pretty tight groupings :D:D

accuracy - accuracy wise the s16s will match anything you've fired and in the right hand im sure could contend with any of the pricier rifles in its class. The magazine - what a piece of enginering it works so smoothly and is simply after 8 shots drop out the mag and turn it and push and your away for another 8 shots:cool:

in conclusion...

the s16s is a cracking rifle that you can take down and have a large shot count with, its powerful accurate quiet and lush looking - what more could a boy ask :p:rolleyes: but ive yet to try it out on the bunnies:D:D

Had one...worst buy ever, did not seem to like the Palladin Nightvision scope. Attaching the laser was cool though. Keep using it then use a s410 or BSA s10 and compare how you feel then. Pretty sure you will want to go back to a good old fashioned wooden stock!

Enjoy your purchase anyway,

Marko

good review :)

i like the paramilitary styling of this gun (along with stealth and verminator etc) and think it makes a change from the traditional wooden stock air rifles

a couple of questions:-

how quiet is the gun with the shrouded barrel compared to your old silenced s200?

is it easy to fit a pod?

Got it- love it!

But can you clear up this for me plz.

I went to target shoot it today and the bottle said emty, but you can normally still get a few rounds out of it. I pull the bolt back, load the mag, push it forwards, round goes into breech. But then I hear air leaking, not sure where. So I pull the trigger to emty the breech, but I just heard a big hiss around the mag, and nothing happened.

So I pull the bolt back, take the mag out (to avoid putting 2 rounds in the breech), push forward, and load the mag again (to seal it up).

Pull the trigger- click, nothing.

I'm sure all this happened becase the bottle was almost emty and the pressure was low.

BTW: When I unscrewed the bottle, no air came out, and the same when I pushed in the two buttons to release the gas.

The pressure in the tank will get to a point where the pressure of the hammer spring will be greater so it will hold the valve open resulting in loosing all the air.
Hope this helps

I had one , brand new and bought it 5 years ago, worst rifle i ever bought. What made me buy it, well looking at the adverts and write up I just had to have it.
When i got it, read instuctions and started to get rifle ready,
firstly the cocking was terrible, jammed 3-4 pellets, bolt was not cocking and cycling nicely, so off it went to loguns, got it back and it was alrightish.
Accuracy was perfect with accupells and was very quiet too.
Then after 1 tin of pellets it was shooting all over the show, did'nt know what was wrong with it so off it went again, got it back perfect, valve was sticking.
Went to the farm after 20-30 shots rifle went down, werent firing, cocking nothing, back it went.
Got it back perfect, againg after another tin it was not holding its air, developed a leak, oh no not again, back it went, got it back perfect.
After another tin the gauge was not working.......

Can you see why I just gave up on the rifle, I got to know everyone at loguns, I even said to lguns to replace the fauly rifle and said no. So took it back to the shop , traded it in for a MFR and never looked back since then.
Story of my life.
Back then they were made in slovakia (somewhere around there) and it lacked a good quality finish badly, dont know about them now but after what I went through I stay well clear of them, dont get me wrong you may be lucky but I certainly were'nt. Happy shooting.

Once you have mastered the idiosyncrasies of this gun it is in my opinion one of the best multi-shots on the market. Mine was mechanically faultless and I enjoyed every minute of shooting with it. It was the Mk 11 s, quiet, pin point accurate, great shot count, just a little too heavy for me but great off the bi-pod. LOVED IT !!!:D

You must have had a bad one Costas :)!!

I am 13, and can master that rifle easy! When you cock it, you need to do it nice and firm to avoud putting two rounds in the breech. I've fired a number of rifles, even an Original 45, and this was the best I have ever bought.

I used to have a Webley Raider, which was good, but nothing compared to this!

Pros:

Great cocking mechanism
16 round mag
Very quiet
Very powerful
Avery accurate- got 3 round in the same hole!
Reliable
Easy refill

Cons:

Bad cheek rest
Stock is not very good- it being a gas bottle with a rubber shoulder pad!
Relaising you've run out of ammo

In all, a truely amazing gun!

Have never had any complaints about mine. My local gun shop told me the early ones were a nightmare, but said that the later ones are much improved reliability wise.

Will be interesting to see what the 'Evo' is like, as I intend to chop my old one in for one.

I'll let you all know!!
