After looking around a bit on this website i finally got to grips on how to use it, and thought i might as well get the best out of it, and have decided to write a review on my airwolf.
The gear:
Daystate air wolf, lovely hunting rig, in fact the best kit I have ever owned, it has a nice bit of wood work on it, however I find that the cheekpiece (like on many guns) needs to be a little bit higher and the fore end a little bit thicker, the barrel is superb at 43cms with a built in silencer this shuts out nearly all the sound, you can have the option of a silencer added. I did not opt for this as it would add weight on to the end of the gun and also I think its quite enough anyway. The gun has a huge number of shots per charge of 210 shots in .177 running at 12ft lbs. the balance of this rifle is also very good, at 1st I thought this would be the let down on this rifle (because of the buddy bottle) however I was proved wrong, and I have to say this is for me one of the best handling rifles iv shot. There are things on the rifle I would have different such as regulated…….however if you want that option have the MVT!! Even more shots per charge of 350 shots in .177 at 12ft lbs!!! and also the stock being “different” as explained earlier, and maybe a side lever rather then a bolt but that doesn’t really bother me. it was toped by a MTC Viper 3-12x44 and viper mounts. I chose this scope because it is suitable for most of my hunting needs.
Accuracy:
i zeroed the gun in at 35yard, which took about 5mins to do so, i then placed targets and 5yard intervals and took 5 shots at each, aiming dead on centre and seeing where the pellet would land. This was so i know where to aim in the future, it took about half an hour or so to complete the test which I don’t think is to bad considering you only have to do it the once, and then remember where about the pellets hit. The grouping on the air wolf is very good I used 4.52 air arms pellets to do this test because I have found that these are the best pellets suited for this gun, from 10 right up to 40yards the grouping was one hole no bigger then 5p. To be fair I did the testing wrong, because from 10-25yards the shooting was done from the standing position, and from then upwards the shots was taken from a sitting position, this was because this would be the type of shooting I would do if I was in a hunting situation, so wrong for the test…….but right for me!

Mount problem:
As you can see from the targets from 10-25/30 yards the pellets are landing slightly to the right, this is because the mounts are not suited to this rifle and therefore the scope is not straight on the scope rails, odd it might sound but yes its true. I have just ordered some BKL mounts off this website so hopefully they will be fitted on the rifle soon and hopefully resolved my problem, and I will right another review once the mounts are fitted.
Over all I would recommend this rifle as it’s a full on hunting rig and would be very good at hft comps as well, looking at the technical specification of this gun it does seem abit heavy and abit complicated for a hunter’s gun. However its NOT! Its perfect, I love it and wont be changing it for a while I have some other guns that I might considering reviewing, please tell me if you would like more reviews. Thanks Ricky
