I recent bought a Brocock Hunter from another member of BBS after reading some fairly decent reviews.

I am mainly using the rifle for pest control around a farm (rats) and lamping rabbits for a local butcher. So far I'm massively impressed. I paid £350.00 for the rifle, silencer, 4-9X40 hawke scope, RWS pump and gun bag.

I have chroned the rifle with AA fields from a 190 bar fill and I'm getting a consistent 11.6 ft/lbs. I have achieved 80 full power shots, then it drops off to around the 10ft/lbs mark and then I refill.

So far I have had no problems. I find that pellet tray is a little shallow, but I was told this was the case before I bought the rifle and I haven't had much trouble with it.

I've also purchased a multi-shot magazine from Rowan Engineering for £54.00 inc postage which works great and means no more problems with shallow pellet tray.

The stock has a reasonable finish, not as nice as AA or other more expensive manufactures, but if you're lugging it round a field in the dark it doesn't matter too much. http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/9634/dsc0009ld3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

The safety is nothing special, does what it's supposed to.

The trigger is nice and smooth and adjustable. I found it was fine and didn't need any adjustments.

The Hunter came with a silencer.http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/9733/dsc0020yo2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
From what I've been told it's a Brocock silencer. The barrel is threaded but it's not you're normal 1/2 inch thread. Not entirely sure what size it is but I know you can get a silencer adapter for about £10.00 and that takes it up to 1/2 in. In my opinion the standard Brocock silencer is good enough. Takes the bang down to a thud. The rifle also comes supplied with a threaded cap for the end to protect the barrel's thread, if you're not using a silencer.

The rifle can be easily stripped down for cleaning and maintenance. To remove the stock, simply remove the safety with a Allan key.

And then the cap screw in front of the trigger.

The standard silencer can also be taken apart and cleaned/inspected.

All in all it's a great budget PCP. I was told by some that it was cr*p, but I have to say it really isn't.

Thanks for looking

Dave

Nice one Dave, looks like a nice rifle you have there, I have the screw on silencer on mine and a brushed alloy bolt handle , not a stainless steel one like yours

Very nice review

Cheers Will. Don't know here the previous owner got the stainless cocking handle from. It's quite nice though..
