That legendary BBSer Mad Mark has offered as an AirgunBBS auction, a flight with him in his Microlight from the microlight club airstrip near Formby, Merseyside for the lucky highest bidder. Whose bid will then be donated IN FULL to that most worthy of charities HELP FOR HEROES. This is an exceptional auction and is sure to be an unforgettable day with surely one of our forums most famous members, some may even say INFAMOUS LUNAR KNICKERS  himself taking you for a sightseeing flight of the local countryside.

I will be somewhere in the area to capture the day on my digi camera and as part of the auction will provide a framed piccie of the lucky BBS member with Mad Mark and his Microlight to catch the moment for posterity.

This is a wee bit different as auctions go and a big thanks to a very BIG HEARTED guy, Cheers Mark buddy :). He's even tuning my Air Arms Shamal for me to ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE :).

There is a weight limit of 14 stones for a ride in the back seat of Mad Marks microlight so will all bidders please bear this in mind.

Mark,

If I win it, it could be interesting.

You with one leg an two eye, me with one eye and two legs. Not sure I have fancy pants but something tells me the flight might make whoever wins pant's brown!

£100. My last bid stands.

I'm not bidding anything to go up in a machine driven by someone called MAD MARK apart from that 10 quid would only get me to sniff at the wheels of the crazy kite:D:D:D

I would love to take photo's from up there but my head for heights went years ago.

Keep on bidding peopes

Nice one Stu, don't worry about your weight to much, i just wont carry as much fuel;):D:D

This is my plan, take off from formby climbing out to 2200 ft to clear RAF wood vale and fly down the coast to Blackpool where we will climb again to 3400fp for Blackpool airport, if the sea is out we will do a out landing at pilling sands on the beach for a brew and bacon butty;):D you cant beat my cabin food guys it's better then British airways:rolleyes: taking off again doing a in land leg over RAF warton airspace and following the m6 motorway, might get a bit lively with the hills with the wind blowing around them but makes it very interesting at times:eek::D:D, there are some good sites to see on the way back, the flight will take about a hour and half depending on weather and wind

Wow  £110 CHEERS STU :). AN EXCELLENT GESTURE. ONLY Made possible by Mad Mark.

I am PROUD to call Mad Mark and his beautiful wife Rachael friends. This was a brilliant offer by Mark for me to auction this flight, I don't know now why I was pleasantly surprised :) this is just typical of a guy who has such a huge heart and has never to my knowledge been beaten by anything or ever will for that matter :).

He knows from his own tragic experience what these young lads in Selly Oaks and Headley Court are going through.

Mark is the personification of all that is GOOD and POSITIVE about this forum and our hobby in general A TRUE ENGLISH GENTLEMAN :). Even if he's half TAFF now .

Just how much leeway is there on this? It is a fantastic opportunity for the lucky winner. But at the [cough] generous end of 18 stone does this mean that if was able to bid enough to win you could only carry enough fuel to give me a lift to the end of the runway :o:D and clearing Wood Vale would be a lost hope :D:D

Cheers - and good luck with the auction

My microlight would lift you but the engine would be going flat out to keep us up there, i can cut back on the fuel with in reason depending how far we are going, as long as i have enough fuel plus emergence in case i have to divert to a different airfield,

The only problem with carrying big weights is if the engine stops and a fully loads Quik 912s drops very fast with having a small wing:D:D If i was flying the Quik GT450 that has two more meters of wing and more lift, that's the only down side of my Quik is the wing size and load it can carry, there faster and more nimble in the air then the gt450 but you cant have it all
