I just got this rifle this morning. Its a custum HW 95, .177 in a GNIB stock. First impressions, its very fast handaling, and light. Its been seet up by Tony Wall to shoot with Air Arms 4.52 and it groups within 1inch at 30 yards. Ok that can be bettered by a better shot. I handed the rifle to Doz Faulkner to see what it could do and boy its capable of top accuracy, 30 yards 40mm kill zone no problems time after time. Consistency over the chron reveled a variation of some 2fps second over 10 shoots. Ok it was expensive but quality counts, i had not really heared much of ths fine company before, i have a Venom tuned HW77 in .177 and an Airgun Centre HW80 in .22 but am glad i picked this little cracker up. When i posted a question rgarding HW95 many recomended the standard gun, this is something special no doubt.:)

Cant even say it, some indonesian thing, nice grain and good handaling characteristics, reminds me very much of Fwb 127.:)

A HW95 tuned by Tony Wall is indeed a superb little gun. I had one in .22 and I still consider that gun to be the smoothest shooting springer I've ever had.

Thanks for that link, its number 10 in the list. needless to say i am well plesed with this rifle. Why though have i never seen one tested in Airgun World or Airgunner!, dare i say it it seems as good in my opinion as any Venom product and i have a venom 77 thats top. So why is SFS not held up there in the same awe/ reverence/ worship that Venom have !.:)

I have heard nothing but good things about SFS, but to date have no personal experience of their work, but I do understand what you're saying, some people seem to be more Godlike than others.:confused::confused:

...he rates them :) so dunno where you heard that? Tony's tune ups are excellent, 'course they're not as "deep" as a full V-whateverit's called now but then they're a 1/3 of the price and amongst the many of both I have I can't really tell the difference.

That said I'd, personally, go for a CS500 over a GINB every time, nothing zenophobic just much prefer the CS :)

I haven't shot either, but for me the CS500 looks miles better. The Ginb has got a weird, science fiction look to my eye - it belongs on Barbarella's ray gun.

perhaps it takes more time and higher prices to develop such reverence;)

oh, and recurring praise will help too.

I have a 95K (in a 98 stock) & a 97K with a fixed spring guide (in a CS800) tuned by Tony are both magic :D and indeed anyone who has tried them seems to be of the opinion that that are as good as anything else from anybody else out there.

I have also tried several rifles tuned by other `tuners` - they were all excellent too and I would be happy to use any of them too.

As to why SFS dont have `the status` that some other tuners have - mmmm not sure……..
They perhaps keep a fairly low profile not posting on here nor seeming to advertise much in the mags - perhaps they dont need to ? I don’t know. Word of mouth reputation may be all they need.

I know when I was looking at the tuning options for my rifles I read countless posts on BBS on similar subjects and after a phone call or three went to SFS.
I don’t think I`ve seen any negative press regarding any of `the tuners` they are with good reason all well regarded, its just that for me SFS gave the best mix of value for money/service/timescale I was looking for at the time - simple as that and I haven’t been disappointed.

One thing that doesn’t seem to get mentioned much is the trigger tune which is included in the standard price. It really takes (in my case) the Rekord triggers to another level…………….. :D
When I did need SFS to resolve a prob with my 95 they did so in a prompt & business like manner. Surely that it all a customer can want !

Enjoy your Banshee & lets see some pics soon ! :D:D

hi guys my (seconhand) Webley Longbow was originally tuned by SFS and still bears the sticker it was a sweet shooter when i got it i could hit pellet tins at 70 yds consistently .
Although i have tuned it since with some V.Mach bits as it began to diesel a little.

Although i have tuned it since with some V.Mach bits as it began to diesel a little.
It's now giving 8fps Variation with Webley Mozzies and 7fps with JSB Exacts over ten shots.

hi guys just a note, i ordered one of the very first sfs spectres when thy first came out. cost a fortune at the time, it was a hw95k with a custom thumbhole stock in a lovely bit of walnut:D. took quite a few months to get , due to there bieng a couple of problems with the first stock that tony wasn't happy about , and ordered another stock done for me. fantastic service, and always happy to talk to you on the phone. had that rifle for a nearly a year, but reluctantly had to sell it, due to having an accident at work and being laid off, so needed the money:(. one of the few regrets of the rifles i have got rid of throu' the years.

SFS do fantastic work. Why is Venom better known? Probably longevity and perhaps they had some more famous users. Anyway the current incarnation of Venom is almost invisible. V Mach have stolen their crown.:D

My hw 80 is a mark one .22 custum from airgun centre, when John Stephens was the owner, it still dose 11.7 ft with accupels, my .177 mark one venom lazarglide HW 77 is second hand via Sportsman (formelly DJ Litts at Newport ) thanks Nigel ! it dose 11. 3 with Air Arms feild 4.52, both are superb but are to heavey and difficult to load following an accident which left my arm semi paralyised and heald together with bolts and pins. This Banshee is awesome so far 11.3 ft lbs effortless accuracey with Air Arms Feild 4.52, its joy to use and own as are the other 2. What say you all we ask for future articles on the custum houses like SFS/ Airgun Centre and others in Airgun World, i have allready offerd my own 3 custum rifles for test if Our Tell agrees to it , and asked for BTDT aka Jim to do the testing.:)

Yes, i think its long over due that other tunners/ custum gun makers got some praise, Venom total respect, but SFS/ Airgun Centre and others deserve some media coverage in my opinion. atb:)
