I recently acquired my MK4 & from 1st glance i have to admit it didn't look much, no fancy bluing, plain stock & an awful feel to the trigger.
Got the rifle home & fitted the scope, ran it over the chrony, a bit too close for comfort so had to turn it down a little, then i got onto the stock.
Stripped the stock back as i think it had been lacquered (not made by the same people as the right handed versions), this took a while but then i added some walnut dye & some oil & the stock looked a whole lot better IMO, why this wasn't done in the 1st place is beyond me..
Then i adjusted the trigger, wow this made so much difference & made it really crisp. Took the rifle to the range & 1st impressions were very good once it was zeroed, pellets from the tin & 10 shot groups of 6-7mm @ 25 yards right away, mostly down to my laziness & rushing no doubt as i did manage to put 3 or 4 in the same hole.
I have used it this weekend for HFT & scored 58ex60 on consecutive days on different courses, it has also accounted for lots of rabbits on my permission so far.
The rifle is very pointable, light & the shot count it very good, this makes it the ideal hunting rifle IMO, i do find after a fill i need to dry fire a few shots to settle it but i find the same with my regged MPR.
All in all a very good all-rounder, i found mine likes jsb 4.52 at the moment, i tried logan penetrators & it hated them, i will be testing other pellets if the groups open up a bit with the JSB's..
So far i'm very impressed with the accuracy & the added silencer makes it whisper quiet with a pellet in, without it makes no difference
I also like the way the new silencer fits over the shroud so the length isn't affected to much.
The only thing i would say is that it could at least come with some allen keys to adjust the trigger & remove the stock & the finish could be slightly better for the money spent, but hey if thats the compromise for the gubbins inside i'll except that & say no more as it really is a superb rifle.
