sorry if this has been done before but here is my review of a second hand tdr

when i first got this air rifle it had, and still does have a bit of wear and tear due to sticky fingers, power levels shots to pieces screws and bolts missing so it never really got used much . but after sorting out power and a few screws i havent been able to put it down .

for me it is used soley for ratting in difficult close range(6ft)with fences ,wire mesh and bushes around me to standard 20yrd plus open range and since having a trapped nerve in my shoulder, the shorter length than my 410k and less weight makes this so much easier to use for long periods of time .
it shoots pellet on pellet with a number of pellet types.

the pistol grip is perfect ,having two magazine holders in the small cheek piece is a very good idea allthough when shooting you do tend to get a bit of internal resonance noise through the removable stock ,it did take me a while to figure where the noise i could hear was coming from as it was getting to me a little bit .

the build quality is good apart from the bit on noise in prevous paragraph and the blueing is getting a bit of hamering due to the wire fenceing and thorn bushes so in a year or two i might think about getting it redone.

power wise it is currently running at 11.4ft/lb as a rifle and 3.5ft/lb as a pistol with aa fields though if you alter rifle power down pistol power will go to about 4.5ft/lb ,something the owner before me must have been playing with and losing the top screw:rolleyes: so air was escaping with every shot

this air rifle is so much fun you tend to forget the downsides ie lack of shot count per fill ,i am thinking of turning down the power to about rat catcher levels so shot count may go up a tad

being able to strip it down and then put it in a backpack if used for hunting trips in the field is a good idea though something i dont do

in all i cant fault this rifle exept the shot count it shoots like all my other aa410`s and it just works, something that my rat catcher that i had just couldnt do in the same conditions
i hear air arms have now brought out a .177 version with a carbine air cylinder which gives a much bigger shot count but i am more than happy with what i get with my .22
long live the tdr :D

i picked one up in my local gun shop recently.it looked and felt a lovely little thing.still thinking about getting one.just need an excuse, or a little ratting permission.

just a bit more info if you like wearing baggy jumpers /jackets i find that the shoulder /butt pad tends to snag just under the armpit quite a bit which i find a tad clumsy when shouldering if your in a hurry
and one more thing ,which i put down to change of pellets ,i have yet to test it more as i was going to take the tdr away with me camping ,and just came back today but ive gone over to rws superdomes with this and pellet on pellet at 15 /17 yrds but wanted to set it up to 35 yrds and pellets are all over the place ,my 410 k doesnt have this problem with rws superdome but will give the tdr a bit more pellet time at 35 yds but am happy with 15 /17 yrds for ratting ,im guessing it likes aa fields better but i dont at the current prices:rolleyes:

Cheers for the review.

I was actually just reading a review in Airgun World (Think it was March 09) about the S410 TDR and it comes out very favourably indeed, I'm going to wait for a .177 to pitch up and probably get it for some coney hunting etc
Will make a change from the Weirauch's I normally use

How exactly does this happen? I thought one of the manufacturer's "quirk's" with this rifle was that (for safety and legality reasons) the rifle didn't work as a pistol when the butt end was detached?

I seem to recall that mine didn't.

Ive had 2 and none of mine worked with the stock off
But i did read in one of the gun mags that it should work at about 4ft lb with stock off:confused:
any way a very good tool very handy
only down side is the shot count so option are k clylinder or reg or even better k clylinder and reg wow that would be good
on the look at for an other one so let me know if you got one for sale

Yes thats right and very nice it was to very well cared for
sold them both to buy a verminator
they are good, very good shot count but not a true TDR
loose air when you take the stock/bottle off
unlike the AA tdr;)
