Got one of these from BTAS a few weeks ago but have only just had a proper chance to try it out. It is so so nice!

I had a modified HW silencer that was damn quiet but the Huggett is even better straight off the shelf! Looks great too!

It is coated in a much harder wearing finish than the HW as well.

pics on my hw100

At £75 they are not cheap but I implore you all to buy one if you have the spare cash!!

hello mate, no they are not calibre specific. You can get them for a 1/2 inch screw on or a slip on though.

Are they a similar length, diameter and weight to the HW silencer? Do they effect handling and how much quieter than the standard silencer are they please?

Yeah it is similar size and weight. Not sure it affects the handling.. My hw100 is spot on as always! Cant really specify how much quieter it is, I would just say it is a bit/slightly/marginally/a little/ some what quieter!

They look like they vent gas before the muzzle?

james.m.pitt
18-06-2009, 09:52 AM
yeah they do vent the gas. Not sure if it works like an air stripper or reduces the pressure in the silencer or something?

Recently did a quick test on a .17 HMR and .22 rimmy and the customer could not believe it out performed his £225 moderator he had fitted, he bought 4 of them!

I'd be interested in knowing this, too.

No not proofed but people will fit them to whatever they want too, I cant control there use, but as they are all machined from solid internaly I know they are stronger than pretty much anything else out there.

Loads of air rifle mods are used on rimfires, even the HO are well aware of it and dont seem bothered, the BBMF from Webley was one, pretty useless on airguns but rather good on rimfires

As Ben says once its left the shop its up to the owner what he uses it on, as far as proofing goes, if its sold as a rimfire mod it should be proofed but these are airgun mods

Look at the old PH mods, airgun model £14, rimfire model £30, exactly the same except one is proofed;)
