Hi

I bought my son a Crossman quest.22 break barrel for his birthday and so far so good.
It’s a light rifle and well balanced the finish to the stock is ok but you can see some swirl marks in it from sanding at the factory, I will get these out in time with wire wool and wax.
It came in a package with a 4x32 centre point scope which I have to be fair is quite good. After setting up and shooting in the gun barrel 100 shots now it’s hitting bulls on Caldwell 5.5 targets at 50meters. I’ve never been a lover of break barrels always had under leavers but this has changed my mind.
The open sights work fine up to 15 meters but you need that scope to get first time hits further then that.
The package cost £149 that’s rifle and scope and it’s a great way to get started in Air gunning or even for an experienced shooter as a back up rifle.
I have chronographed it and it’s just on the limit 11.98ftlb so there is plenty of punch
So the next time your on the range and see one ask if you can try it and you might be surprised.

Hi Bangers

I would seriously have a look at de tuning the gun. If it is at 11.98 a lighter pellet would easily take it over 12 and therefore make the rifle a firearm and require a FAC getting yourself and your son in a lot of bother.

Cheers

Dave

yeah we`ve been using rws superdome 14.5gr and put about 350 through it now and its making 10.9 to 11.1flb so i think the newness is wearing off a bit.i have just fitted a hawk 3-9-40 scope tonight which is great, and it`s grouping beautifully at 50m. roll on sunday morning for more range fun....
