This is my first post on the forum and i thought a review would be appropriate.
I have just recieved my new rifle from SMK via my local gunsmiths a XS79 , it arived in a small box and looked rather plain but once i handled it i could feel that i would like it (my other guns are a SMK XS19 and a Hatsan 19 both springers) .
I had also ordered a silencer and some spare cylinders (88gr) , but i had decided to buy a scope from the shop.
Fitting the cylinder to the rifle was a bit of a struggle as there was not a lot of grip and it had to be tight enough to break the seal , once done it was backed off a bit to allow the gas to escape into the chamber( oh the correct procedure was followed ,cocking the rifle and putting the safety on before fitting the cylinder). The first shot without pellet was taken to make sure that the rifle was charged, with a crack a discharge of co2 came from the end of the barrel.
The next job was to fit the scopes, a Richter Optic 4X32 and silencer and it was ready for a pellet on the chrono which registered 7.2 ft lbs, a bit low but i expected that and the subsiquent shots saw the readings rise as the rifle bedded in (thats what i think), by the fifth shot the chrono was reading almost 10 ft lbs .
The cocking bolt was a little stiff at first but after 30 shots has now bedded in well . The set up is well balanced and is comfortable to hold and back in my garden a fresh target was clipped to the catcher on the gate and setting the sights began .
The range is almost 60 feet and the scope was set within 15 pellets giving a constant placement on the target of about 2" diameter over the next ten shots .
I have a lot more to find out about this rifle as it is my first co2 and totaly different to a springer , but if first impresions count then i like it .
