Any fool can be cold,

And I have been for a couple of years now when out shooting in winter.

Shooting for me means generally hours of inactivity either in the dead of night
or at dawn in winter, when the weather is not at it warmest and a lot of times
I have called it a day early through the cold getting to me.

So I have decided to invest in some serious hunting clothes.

Looked at most makes of kit and cammo, but decided Deerhunter and Realtree was the way
to go with it fantastic materials and manufacturing quality after years of using Army surplus DPM.

So I plumped for the Rusky jacket and accessories. It's a 4 piece material jacket with salopettes,
hat and gloves. The jacket is rated down to -30 degrees and after wearing it outside this evening
for a while I can well believe it. It can be unzipped to provide a fleece or a lighter jacket
The salopettes are double lined and equally as warm as the jacket, being high wasted they provide
warmth and protection to the waist and midriff area and should be excellent for hide sitting or laying
out in grass waiting for bunnies to appear.

The gloves have forefinger and thumb slits in both hands, allowing mags to be loaded with relative ease,
they are warm and have a ribbed cuff to keep out and drafts.

The hat is a bit of an Elmer Fudd, it has tie sides on it that double as earmuffs and a good peak to keep
the winter sun out of your eyes when looking through a scope and with my hair fast disappearing I need to keep
the head warm and snug when out ratting with the NV.

Overall, this is not a lower end shooting kit, but for me, the extra money is buying fantastic quality and an obvious
solution to the cold getting to me and curtailing my shooting over the winter months.

I can thoroughly recommend this kit, if the cold gets to you normally, it certainly won't in this gear.

All the best

Neal

As your in the airgun section, you must be doing close range hunting.
How noisy is the suit whilst on the move? do the sallopettes rustle like crisps packets?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul,

These are proper hunting clothes, absolutely silent, no rubbing or rustling
from this kit.

Probably one of the best bits of kit I have ever treated myself to for
shooting.

Totally agree with Neal, I fell asleep last year waiting for a fox to appear and woke up 2 hours later under an inch of snow, still warm.
