Hi Liam,
I own a .177 falcon pf 18mp which is the multi shot thumbhole stock/ carbine model. A mate gave up shooting and offered the rifle and divers bottle at such a good price i couldnt refuse even though i use the mighty eliminator so much!
Anyway back to the Falcon... First impressions are that the blueing on the metalwork and barrel is superb much better imo than any of the airarms 400/410 series of rifle three of which ive previously owned. The thumbhole stock is lovely too.
My rifle is approx 4 years old so has the old style plastic magazines which need the brass thimble thingy to stop the pellets falling through when loading some people find this a bit fiddly but ive never had a problem as i just load up 3 mags which normally does me for an evening lamping unless i have a particularly good session on the rats! (Newer falcon multi's have the later magazine which does away with the 'thimble').
The Falcon came with the standard silencer which for me is the only real shortcoming with the rifle as i think moderation could be better. Although this will soon be sorted as im awaiting delivery of a silencer adaptor and a weirauch silencer(come on Royal Mail:() which should be better than the standard falcon offering.
My rifle is a carbine version which is obviously shorter and lighter than the rifle length version and also gives less shots at around 35 before power significantly drops off ( i always have my 3 litre bottle in the truck so a top up is close to hand if needed). For me this is a fair trade off as i really like the short length and lightweight of the carbine Falcon as i shoot a lot in the confines of cow sheds often taking awkward shots.
Best pellet ive found are Daystate 4.52 pellets which obtain excellent accuracy and stopping power. Zero'd at 35yds the Falcon shoots pretty flat from 15-35yds. Scope wise i have a good old simmons 3.5-10x40 wtc mounted on it which is superb.
Ive always been one for swapping and changing guns but i shall hang on to the falcon for a while yet!
