This is a review of my new sako finfire hunter.

First impressions of the rifle were how neat and tidy it looks, everything is well finished the action has a nice matt finish while the barrel has a good deep blued finish, the stock is a lovely dark colour with very sharp and deep chequering on the forend end and pistol grip, overall the rifle has a very classy look about it nothing extremely fancy just very well finished and classy. First impressions on picking the rifle up were on how light it felt upon shouldering it and how well it fitted my body although the length of pull seems very short or at least shorter than my pcp, I felt instanly comfortale with the rifle in my shoulder. For my first cartridges I decied on winchester subs. I was quite surprised at how well it was grouping on its first shots after about fifty shots it really settled down and was shooting sub one inch groups a 50 yards of the knee which I was happy with, but beleive with a bit of ammo testing it could go tighter. I am really happy with this rifle the whole action of it is very smooth the bolt is lovely and smooth the synthetic mag seems to be cycling flawlessly so far, the single stage trigger although different than what im used to is actucally very good with zero creep and a really nice clean break, I had concerns that the cheek piece was a bit low for me and my 3-9 *50 scope and while my eye is lining up good I am not just resting my head on the cheek piece as much as I would like so i may change the scope to one with a 40mm objective so I can get it on med mounts, also the only other thing about this rifle I dont like is the but pad its a very thin plastic afair and tends to slip in he shoulder the odd time, so I may change to a daystate style one soon apart from that I love this rifle it looks superb is very light to carry, very good trigger, very smooth, works flawlessy so far, very accurate so far, highly reccomended, when I get time to do some ammo tests ill put them up along with a pic of the rifle.

I also have a sako finnfire hunter, had it for about 18 months now, and it just keeps on gettin better, it shoots well with most ammo, but it thinks eley subs are greeeeeat! and dont be tempted to clean it too much either, evry 1-2000 rounds just clean the first 4-6 inches from the chamber, unless its really mucky or gets wet, then give it a good clean, but it will take about 10 shots or so to lead up and get back into its stride.
