Hi , i am just returning to air rifles , so am looking at what rifle to get .
The Logun S16 is one of the top ones on my list , but before i spend out my readies on one , i would like to know if it will do what i want it to . I have been to a club meet and they do ft and hft , so i would like to do that as well as a bit of rabbiting etc. as i find suitable locations .
Would you recomend it as a irst PCP for the above use ?
Any input appreciated .
Cheers
Pumbaa

I believe the S16 is only available in .22 so not really suitable for competition use.
Do not buy a Mk1 S16 as it's horribly unreliable. The Mk2 with the shrouded barrel seems to be fine. Make sure you hold one if you're still considering buying one as you may find the stock too long if you're of normal proportions.

Hi mate,

I had two MK1s, crap!!

I've been using a MK2 and I'm very impressed, I borrowed it to do some garden rats and loads of plinking. It's had loads of use by myself, very accurate and quiet with the extra silencer module, never jammed, doesn't leak or have any of the previous problems.

As Daz says above.
Important to check it out first though as Jonathan advises not just because of the fairly long reach required but because its also pretty damnned heavy!

Other than that though its very quiet and very accurate. Shant sell mine. :)

The Mk1 is the biggest lemon about - don't get one even if it's free. As for FT or HFT as mentioned the S16 is .22 only and whilst there is a .22 class at HFT at FT you're urinating in the wind with .22. The Gun is very unbalanced IMO as well as very long in the reach. Probably ok if you have arms like a Gibbon (no offence to Simon :D ). There are far better guns about for HFT and FT (most of them in fact)

I too have a MK1 S16 and yes it is heavy,it does require arms like the "for mash get Smash potato man" but i have not had any problems what so ever with mine (perhaps i am lucky) apart from the butt plate catching on my ghillie suit when i have to get into the aim when standing whilst hunting.I have been shooting with mine everyday for the past 4 weeks and it has not missed a beat (or the quarry) and i love to shoot with it,you never know when you will need the other 15 "quick shots" just in case you happen upon a warren of 16 severely stupid bunnies.I only happened upon three stupid bunnies a few weeks ago and without my trusty S16 i would have only potted one but as it was i got all three. Not even John Darling did that when i used to read his articles, i used to think that maybe it was wishful thinking on Johns part to virtually silently get one bunny and the other one not really noticing that george was laying next to him twitching like crazy, then all of a suddenly.........punch out, arthur!!!
Wouldn't get rid of mine for anything.Love it to bits, wouldn't mind another one so my friends from the Green stuff could shoot as well and it would be roughly the same hold as they are used to with the SA80.

i had a sweet 16 not long after they were brought out. with a little mod to the silencer and a dremel to the trigger i got mine running at 11.8ftlb in .22 and very quiet. i also shot club competitions with this rifle and beat .177 shooters on some occassions.... .22 is not less accurate then .177 but it does take a little more practice to shoot accuratly. practice is all it takes... and shooting the s16 in competition is not a problem :)

The s16 is a great rifle, i sold my AAs410 to buy one! if i didn't need cash to buy a new car then i would not be selling it for love nor money.....

Ive just brought Bionicle's S-16. I hav'nt been out in the field shooting it yet but I have been plinking a few empty larger cans in the back garden. I found it quite hard to get the hang of the 16 shot mag and found that 5 or 6 times I put 2 down the barrel at the same time. After a while I got the hang of it. Ive never used a multishot before. The shooting distance in my garden is 26 meters. I always fill my empty cans up with sand to get maxi wear from them plus they dont fall over and you can plink for hours with onlt 1 can. By the end of my plinking session I was shooting the bottom of the can and I can safely say that my grouping was impressive. I dont think I missed in about 50 shots. Thats some task for me I can tell you. To bring it to a close Im very pleased with mine and shall not be parting with it for a while. The only advise I can give is chose you rifle carefully because at the price of new rifles a mistake could work out very expensive. Goodluck with what you chose and be safe be good and most inportant be happy. ;)
