Had my Carbine Stingray .177 now for a week and it gets two thumbs up from me!

I like the size alot..very easy to manuever, especially sniping varmints from the kitchen window or back deck and you're fetching it in a hurry. :) Fit and finish are top notch. The blueing is absolutely beautiful and very deep in color. The built in muzzle break/compensator with hooded sight (the hood alone can be removed to just leave the front blade) is fantastic. Very easy to aquire the target. The stock is nice with good tight grain...finished very nice. It takes a sharp tap to break the barrel but is smooth nonetheless. The trigger is exceptional IMO and I haven't even adjusted it yet, still factory set. Recoil is very moderate and this thing spits pellets dead on nuts after I zeroed her in. I purposely shot the head off a nail at 15 yards which was holding my target to a 2x4 perched in the yard. A great all around springer for varmint control and plinking...can't wait to see what she can do after she settles down after a tin of a couple hundred pellets. Once things go awry (if they do) with the mainspring and 'plastic' guide, I plan to give the ol gas ram a go...heard that the stingray only gets better. for now, I'm going to shoot the heck out of it and enjoy every minute of it. I recommend the Stingray Carbine 100%.

I had my second hand webley xocet that is very similar to stingry and i cannot menage the recoil .
Put a venom kit and i still have massive recoil.

I had no trouble with my ExocetXS,it was a very accurate little rifle, small lightweight springers allways have a fair bit of recoil to em but i dident find my Exocet unmanageable, the more i used it the more accuarate it became.

I can second that. I have an Xocet and my 11 year old son has an Xocet XS.
Deadly accurate (ask the bunnies) and no problems managing recoil. :)

This means that that mine has something wrong ...i have to say that mine i had it second hand so don`t know what happened before.

As i said the recoil broke the mounts and rear guide inside now i have venom stage 1 but still sharp recoil.

The safety catch on my .177 Stingray stopped working after 6months occasional use (the rifle was brand new).

so far the major cons to the Stingray seem to be peoples dislike for the 'cheapy' safety latch and a few posters have commented on lower power than they anticipated. I can concurr with the thoughts on the safety latch, a bit light and lesser quality as compared to everything else on the gun, which is top notch IMO. I also heard complaints about the 'plastic' (synthetic) rear spring guide, also refered to as the SST (Silent spring technology) and their likeliness to snap under heavy usage. That can be replaced when and if I need it, but i suppose the safety is here to stay. Running it through the paces with a wide variety of pellet designs and manufacturers and i'll let ya know which my particular gun liked to eat the most. Wish I had a chrony to get some numbers outta this baby. ;) All in all, I'm still a huge fan of this little powerhouse. A+ for aesthetics as well.

Ive been hunting with a stingray 2.2 carbine for the past year, very accurate and powerful gun, just upgraded to AA.S200 MULTI 2.2, but the stingray stays in my armoury, by the way my other gun is a Kingratcatcher with A.G.S 3x9x40 saphire scope, red dot silencer and B.S.A system 2LF lamp and laser system, ideal for what i use it for, and thats ratting, amazing little gun, featured in this months airgun world.
Any of you guys use a specific gun for a specific task?

Good to see some people posting on here about this rifle. I must admit, some comments I've read on other areas of this forum about this gun made me start to think I'd gone out and purchased a "lemon" which worried me a bit because I really like my .22 carbine version.
Have'nt really done anything with it apart from a bit of plinking, but its accuracy is fine, it chrono'd at 11.6 ft lbs using Crosman Premiers and finally (but perhaps most importantly) it is the most "comfortable in the shoulder" rifle that I have. :) :)

Well, I've had it chrono'd. She topped out at 850 fps with 8.6 gr. pellets. Comes out to about 13.8 ft lbs. Not too shabby. Lowest of the 5 shots was at 842 fps. This thing just keeps getting smoother and smoother to cock and shoot too. :)
