Hi,

I bought a tin of David Nickerson (Tathwell Ltd) Magnum Dome today to try out in the Fenman. They are a double ring type round head, these ones in .22 (5.5mm) and really quite cheap at £3.50 for 500.
First impressions were not too good, just a quick glance in the tin showed lots with a deformed skirt and bits of swarf still attached and with a dull grey finish.
Still, I gave 'em a try by going out to my rifle range, which the girfriend calls "our back garden" for some reason and fired about a hundred at my 25 yard paper targets using a rest.
I noticed about half of the pellets fit the Fenman without a problem while the rest need a really strong push to get in. After a few shots I looked at the transfer port and saw a lead ring around the lower end of the port which indicates they are sticking out too far when the barrel is returned....not good.
Groups were okay I guess but with some pellets going wild.
So anyway, I bought they because of the name but to be honest they are not good value, at least not in my rifle.
I'm surprised at these, they remind me of pellets 15 years ago. Even the cheap Gamo brand look better made.

Probably made using the same machines and dies from 20 years ago. Mind you, they weren't that much cop back then either, wonder how they stay in business...

I bought a tin about a week ago just to try. I might have well used a blunderbuss, the accuracy really suffered. I think they are very poor, again my barrel doesn't like them any way so I think I will avoid them in the future :(

They come in a nice twist top box though.

Probably the best thing about them, but to be fair I can melt them down to use as ballast for my R/C combat wing :D :D :D :D

i was just using some milbro "caledonian" which weren't too bad, switched to these and they are all over the place. They don't fit in the barrel properly and i imagine it can't be good for the rifle. avoid these pellets.

Absolutely rubbish pellets. All of my guns fire them at around 9.5ft/lbs but the pointed version is reasonably accurate short range.
