I wanted a cheap rifle to tinker with, and try a few ideas out, so Ive bought a cheap russian rifle. At £60 i wasnt expecting much other than a selection of bits in the shape of a rifle, needing a lot of work to produce a decent result. I was wrong. Though rough around the edges the important basics are all there. nice trigger, adjustable and predictable, smooth shooting, with minimal recoil, and and accurate barrel. I wanted to plink, and do a little 10m work, and its fab for that :) :) when I got it i stripped it (very easy) and relubed, as it was made in 1991, and has been sat in a box since so out with the cleaner and moly grease. othere than that Ive not yet done anything, but I have shot a 90 with it at 10m (on pistol target admittedly) :)
It is FUN to shoot, the 5 shot mag indexes on each cocking stroke, and the low power (currently 3.5 ft lbs) means easy cocking and low recoil.

I have some improvement ideas, but i think i might have to buy a new one to play with, as this one is such fun :)
anyone else got one of these fun guns?

http://www.hunt101.com/img/357693.jpgYes i have one for now well it's really the young lads it's producing about 330FPS if were lucky but i found the air is escaping through the mag and when i first stripped it i DID notice there is no oring OR channel on the probe so thats a mod that will gain at LEAST 50FPS as simply bunging up the mag with plastercine did the job though air STILL escapes through the bolt so with an Oring it would improve power.

I wouldn't even bother with a tougher spring as the cocking lever isn't the toughest and i already have wear on the piston where the lever connects:rolleyes:

Mine has a Brass Muzzle flip comp and BSA laser fitted under the barrel. (helps the lad have fun with cans in the garden and the power is so low there is no worry or rebounds etc.

I had a Pistol with more power:D

Still a good gun to teach the basics on and a bit of fun in the garden
