Dont worry if you dont own a springer. There is several available including: BSFs, BSAs, HW35/97/77/55s, A.A., Original etc. The gun racks look like Dennis Hillers dustbin! :D :D :D

Visitors, juniors, and inexperienced shots are treated with the utmost respect and courtesy, receiving advice and encouragement to help them improve and make them feel welcome.
Regular members are subjected to a torrent of abuse, all forms of barracking short of physical contact are considered acceptable, and a mighty jeer raises the roof at every miss.
All in all, a great fun event eagerly awaited each month, surreptitious practice is already taking place, but no one will admit to taking it seriously.
Come and have a go, you won't regret it.

Bob

Ian, I notice that although you have a Prosport in your collection, you don't have a TX underlever.

I know you prefer German springers, and, in a way, so do I. They just seem to have more character, and the build is reassuringly bomb proof.

Nevertheless, I'm surprised you don't have a TX.

Look a little more carefully. ;)

'Superstitious practice' where you touch wood for luck, because I need as much help as I can get, is more apt for my style of shooting.

Another good turn out which was worth it just to see the variety of springer rifles in the gun racks. There was a few HW35s, 95, 55, 77, 97, 99S Original 35, Pro Sports, A.A. SE90, TX200, BSF, etc. If you haven't got a springer, dont worry, theres plenty on offer.

The gun rack. (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4225/gunrack2ax.jpg)

'Two Screws' (http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/970/scopedwinner4ds.jpg), Steve, managed to find a HW35 with a straight barrel.

Young Aaron (http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/4373/opensightwinner8ad.jpg) was easily the winner of the Open Sight Springer class. Young eyes you see (and a good shot).

The biggest award of the day went to 'Raygun' (http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/2965/16ze1.jpg) who proudly wears the Dreaded Duck for his efforts in not damaging the kill zone paint.

Our next 'Spring Rifle' FUN competition at our indoor range will be on Sun. 5th Feb. and will include 10m rifle and pistol events.

The next one, on Sun. 5th Feb includes
'Open Sight Springer (recoiling)' -
'Up to 4x Mag Scoped Springer (recoiling) -
'Standing shots', were anything (legal) goes - p.c.p., etc
10m match rifle and
10m pistol compts.
Five compts on the one day! All for FUN (small prizes) and the fear of having to wear the 'Dreaded Duck'.
Dont worry, if you havent got a suitable rifle/pistol there is plenty on offer. We are getting back to the basic FUN airgunning (and staying warm). ;)

I'd just like to point out that the "Duck" is the hardest trophy to win in U.K. airgunning.

The consistancy required is beyond the comprehension of most mortals.
Apart from that there was a conspiracy between other members to keep hitting the target so that I would have to keep the "Duck"

I would also suggest that the proceeds from the next comp should join those from this comp, in the "Ellie May" tin. (The winner of the "Duck" to also pay a fine into the tin)

If you keep on winning the duck Ray I think we lesser motals should pay ( via the charity tin ) for you to keep it.

Cracking day which all who turned up thouroughly enjoied, my kids have allredy eaten the chocs by the way, so I trust there will be some more next month.

Keep up the practice Bob, and a word of advise, leave your son at home next month (like I did this time ) it's a bu**er when you get beaten by your own son, but perhaps not as bad as IJ being beaten by his own gun:p :D  :D

Thanks for a great day in good company

Sorry Steve, but this time I soundly beat my son, and he wore the duck for a while.
It was actually Ian B who was trounced by his lad , young Aaron.
Perhaps the chocolate orgy you took part in affected your short term memory ! :p :D ;)

At the next comp I'll wear the "Duck" for anybody who misses, on the payment of £1 into the Ellie May tin.

I've seen you lot shoot, the tin should make a fortune.

Not for the first time ...... and I bet not for the last.:p

My confidence has increased that much since I practiced (after the event :( ) that at the next shoot (5 feb) I will put 50p into 'the tin' for EVERY shot I miss.

Sometimes my big mouth drops my right into it. Best to remain quiet and let people think you are a fool than open it and confirm it! :D
