GB Sights Battery fault

Hi, I haven’t used my ASPRO for a while and now when charging the battery the light just flashes. I know this is like a trickle charge mode but it has been on charge now for 4 days and the light is still flashing!

Is my battery faulty and if so does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Make a new one, cost's bugger all............

Got me battery holder from here

As I only switch mine on to take the shot I went for a AA battery version, its as light as a feather, if you use it more go for bigger batterys

Got a new plug from the same place, soldered a bit of two core cable between the two and hay prestoe a new battery pack for less than £2
Plus the batterys of course but I had some spares kicking around.

If your plug is ok (mine was knackered) then just cut the whole lead off the old battery pack and solder it onto the battery holder, new battery pack for less than £1
Plus batterys

Sorry bud!

Thanks for the info, I've been looking into both building a new pack or fixing the old one, but I think you are right building a new one looks like the best way. I'll post some pictures when I'm done.

Thanks again for your advice.

Does any one know what type of batteries were in the old GB sights battery pack? (just in case I do fix the old one).

you can use a 6v battery like they use for the deben lamps,
anything from 4.8 to 6v is fine

Battery

Had the same with my batterys, one caught fire, well nearly, when in my pocket the other wouldent hold its charge, I have only just put a connector on a 6v 4amp battery and it works perfect., and you can always carry a spare when out for a good nights ratting as they are so cheap

Hi Anthony, Its good to hear from you.

I was looking at those today in Maplins (1.2AH), I have also seen some 4 x AA batery cases with an on/off switch which look quite cool.

here is some ebay numbers:

Thanks, I think a new battery and charger is the way to go. I may rewire the old case with a new battery and charging system. Now where's my white coat like my electronics teacher used to wear?
