I've looked through both the PVS 14 and the MiNi 14, though not had them side by side (that I remember). Can't say I noticed any difference with the optics, which maybe why Carl mentioned comparing them side by side.

As I think I mentioned before, they've got slightly different applications. The MiNi is lighter, so might be better on a rifle. Until recently the MiNi was harder to mount, but that's about to change.

The PVS seems to be fairly unique with its manual gain, or is at least the mainstream product with this feature. You'll pay for it though.
