If you cut your food intake down your metabolism slows down, increase your food intake in the form of more veg and fruit and this will keep the metabolism working harder.
I know im not loosing muscle because im going for a show on the 17th of this month and loosing muscle is not the point here.
If you do it properly you wont loose muscle only fat and water..

6ft 4inch = 21.5 st!

Eat healthy in the week but then the odd takeaway and brewing your own booze doesnt help at the weekend.

What a load of BS. Eating sensibly througth the week and having 1 meal and a few pints wont put weight on. As long as you don't over do it! In some slimming circles this is encouraged!

25.0 stone for me and 6ft.
Mostly beer and large portions for the last few years, I once was a keen cyclist and I really miss it now but I feel just too large to get back on me bike

Unhappy

My last weigh in was 04/08/09 and I was 15 stone 6 lbs.

Tonight I actually weigh the same and I feel somewhat a failure as I had all good intentions to loose some weight but have not over two months.

In the past I have been able to shed excess weight very well, I mean scary amounts in little time using either low carb diets or major exercise.

I have to admit to snacking heavily between meals and not exercising enough so I do know where I am going wrong.

I lack motivation to loose weight and good health alone is not a reason for me at the moment as I am generally in good health unless I have to run for last orders at the kebab house!

Why do others loose weight? Is it for yourself or to please others?

Damn it I want to be slim

Steve

I'm buggered...because I gave up smoking I have managed to put on 4 kilos much of this I suspect because of snacking between meals and the boredom of doing sweet FA at work for day's on end

Now stopped the snacking and smaller meals at set times.

I will not give up my cans of beer on a Friday though

Great thread

I'm 5'11" and weight 14 stone. Need to get down to 12 stone 9 pounds, ideally, for karting weight.

Will be cutting out booze (tomorrow)

Having weighed myself yesterday I need to go on a diet so here goes.

6'1" - 17st 2lbs target is about 13 ish I'm not hugely worried about what I weigh rather how I feel/look. So if I can get back to a 34" waist and loose my man boobs I'll be very happy.

[quote=Musclefox;3830058]If you cut your food intake down your metabolism slows down, increase your food intake in the form of more veg and fruit and this will keep the metabolism working harder.

Thats words of wisdom right there!! Ive lost around 2.5 stone in 7-8 weeks by having a fairly strict diet and doing 6-8 hours of cardio per week . The last time I weighed myself I was 14 stone 11 lbs , And Im due to weigh myself again at the end of the month , And I know Ive lost some more already .

I still allow myself one "Treat meal" per week . Thats today for me (Man I love treat meal day , Portsdown hill burger van here I come!!)

My cardio is 2 hour tabs (Power walks) cross country carrying 40lbs in a backpack 3-4 times a week . And I lift weights 3 times a week as well . I can honestly say I feel better than I have in years .

The only down side of things is none of my clothes fit me anymore , Ive had to punch new holes in all my belts so that I dont keep losing my trousers!!

It can be hard to stay on track sometimes , And its so easy to say "Bollox to this" and have a kebab , But its worth remembering that if it was easy , we would all have perfect bodies , all the time .

If I ever feel myself edging towards the fridge in the evening , I ask myself "How badly do you want to get into shape?"

Hope this helps fellas .

All the very best .

Andy .

Since cutting down on booze and then stopping completely, in 4 months I've gone from 13st 10 down to 12st 9.

Not sure if I should be eating more to maintain my weight but I don't starve myself.

None of my jeans fit properly, they hang off my arse like what the local chavs wear.

Going to have to put some more holes in my belt too.
