Southern Hunters Round 4 Results - M.A.D

With the bar having been set high by the first three rounds, the crew from Maldon had their work cut out to put on a good show - which they did and very well. The weather, allbeit a bit on the cold side first thing, was not too bad and we even had a bit of sunshine, though not much of it. Terry rang me in the week to say they had set the course and all the strings were crossed and the targets all sat at 45 yards, what we found when it was shot, was a very well thought out course which was really enjoyable to shoot, top job lads.
We had 2 platinum Winners today, Chris Coombes and myself (wahey), there will be a good few up for top honours next time at Ford Ranges - i will post a list once i have worked out who is on it

In all the day was a great success, so a big well done to Ian and Terry + their team at M.A.D, also to Ryan for a great 59 and to Larissa in the juniors for a new PB of 58.

Never mind Del boy, we've all got three more chances ......
Ford ......... could go either way.
Bisley ....... unchartered waters for most.
Basingstoke ....... silver there for me last time, must do better.

Nice shooting today Mr Light, obviously all that work paid off.

Oh! The shame...the degradation, the lowest of the low....But that's enough about MATT Smith
I am in no position to shout!

They had it easier second half and no mistake!
Cheatin bleedin can'tgetoutofbedders.

OK so i am p$$d with my score!

I don't know .......... I watched him inexplicably plate that MAD target.
What made it worse was Craig telling him how he should have shot it .... stupid boy! ... no tact.
There were quite a few who were having a mare, funny enough I plated no 6, easy 40mm shot, I watched the pellet strike the paddle ........ someone said there might have been ice on it

Well done to all at SH and MAD for a good round dahn in Essix.

It was a good honest course, with no trickery or silliness in the way of cages etc, just very clever positioning of the targets, excellent use of terrain and trees. It all seemed very innocuous, yet nobody managed to clear it

I think in the back of my mind was the effect of the stiff Arctic breeze out on the zero range, the question was how much to give it in the woods hehe.

Thanks to good old Clubshot for the lift, and to my shooting partner Mr Nibbley for the company After some intensive coaching from me, Darren managed to learn how to get a consistent hold on that gnarly old twanger he was using Seriously, top shooting mate, without the inexpicable misses from the master(could it have been that it was f~~~~n cold), I reckon the Dazzer would have been on for a 57+ with the springer!

The course was so interesting that I even disagreed with Nibbley (tut-tut) over some ranges after we shot them, and still weren't 100% sure about them. Now that's good course setting

Thanks all at MAD that was the type of course I really enjoy even without a cage! It was obvious a lot of thought had gone into the layout and it was nice to have so much space between the pegs.

It was great fun, great course..but just a little COLD. What a proper day out. I do ache a bit...think the cold might have got into my joints. Nice bath and a glass of red seemed to do the trick.
Thanks to all at MAD, a cracking time.

Indeed there was plenty of space... but not quite enough to get a healthy distance from the heckling from Matt and Charles!
