    Swefta Shoot Postponed

Regretfully, tomorrow's SWEFTA shoot at Dartmoor Marksmen has been called off, as the farm is snowed in. We hope to hold it at a later date.

At least I found out a comp was on, I was going to go up there tomorrow.
Although it's still bleeding cold and windy so I might postbone until next week, I just got back from Prague, Berlin, Holland and a place in the Rhine valley and it's flippin colder here than it was in any of those places.
    Typical Devon weather .

    You're a brave boy, All!
I hope there were lot's of warming cups of tea on hand, to warm you up. If not I'll have a word with his majesty
The zeroing range is at least semi sheltered. But that wind! Boy, can it cut through you..

When I was there at 2.30 pm this afternoon it looked very pretty, clear sky, all sunshine and snow melting nicely, running out of the fields and down the roads. If it freezes tonight, there will be wall-to-wall ice in the morning and as much as I like watching the winter Olympics, I am not going skating in the car tomorrow! The last hill down to the bridge and turn-in to the farm was still compacted snow and ice and I didn't much like the trip back up the devil, it was a bit slippery, and that was at +6 degrees C. I spoke to a lady pushing a pushchair at the farm and she said it would freeze tonight. Its a shame, but we shouldn't take the risk - I am sure there is a spare weekend sometime for rescheduling it. Preferably on a nice warm weekend!
