If you post again with the best description you can manage, as well as the number someone may be able to help you.

They may also be able to give you some idea of value.

Is it a fairly modern rifle?

The Airsporter 'S' had a GP prefix, if it is, I would have thought it would be stamped as an Airsporter, it should also have a Walnut stock.

Mind you, it could be an older rifle, and I could be making a prat of myself (nothing new there). Some pictures could be useful. If you don't know how to host them, email them to me and I'll sort them out from here.

    Cheers

By "tap" do you mean a lever at the side which turns a bar running acrossways
    - or is it a shiny steel BSA Superstar-type rotating breech?

    I'd had a rough night!

    This may help.

'GP' should equal a Airsporter S mk2. But the stock looks different and maxi rail?

From the shape of the stock, I`d say Airsporter Mk7.
