fitting a QD stud

The thread of the stud needs to be fully into the stock.
It must not stick out through the stock so shorten it if it does.

DO NOT DRILL YOUR STOCK WITH THE ACTION IN THE STOCK.
(Sorry if you know, but reservoirs have been drilled before today)

shud i drill a hole all the way through with the action off the stock? in other words does the hole need to come out of the other side of the stock?

sorry about asking all these questions its just i dont want a gun blowing up in my face
