It's generally not as easy as that Pookie,

You need to write to and visit local farms offering your services as a pest control
shooter. Be prepared for loads of knock backs. It generally takes ages, but who knows
you might just be lucky and fine one straight away.

You might want to join a club and maybe a generous member might let you tag along
    on one of their shoots.

Shooting ground is highly prized and generally not easy to come by.

    Good luck

There's a club somewhere near Harrogate. I understand that they require that you have your own insurance though (BASC membership should do it). I don't know much about them though, try the local gunshops. Failing that, your nearest clubs will probably be Huntingdon(near York), Guiseley or Pontefract.

Don't know what the club is like, but here is the contact details.

Menwith Hill, Harrogate Harrogate ARC Robin Stott 01423 864701

Getting land can be hard, but as already said, knock on doors, ask, and don't get disheartened if you get a no.

The Harrogate Club is deceased. Pontefract ARC is the most accessible from Harrogate.

The UKAHFT site still has it up as a contact. I was going to call to see what it was like. Thanks for the info Sphexx.

Yes, i know about the link. I phoned Robin Stott about a year ago and he was quite definite that it had closed and was not likely to re-open.
