have to check the skirts on both types before using..

I use these pellets and to be honest I have never checked it the pellets are 5.51 or 5.52! Is it written on the pack anywhere?
(Why don't they colour code them like Eley does with the wasps?, much easier to spot then)
I AM NOT RACIST, I HAVE A COLOURED TELLY
There is a difference, all depends on what gun your using for a 410K I found the 451 were better. I believe tests in the mags have supported this also.
Problem i find with AA is the skirts can easily be damaged, and yes lots of swarf, never realised how bad it was till i changed guns and pellets.

If there is no difference in your rifle then don't worry about it! Barrels are manufactured to close tolerances and the choice of head size is offered for those where the small difference is meaningful. Certainly the 4.51's would get dislodged out of one of my rifles whereas the 4.52's are harder to shift. Admittedly the percentage difference is greater in .177 than in .22 but the principle is the same.
in my s400 4.51s 11.744ftlbs . 4.52 11.492ftlbs no difference in group size
usually a sticker on the bottom of the tin
Out 2 35yds you probably wont notice a difference, it really depends on your barrel and the fit of the pellet. The only real way to tell is 2 chrono both.
In my AA PCP's i get 10/11 fps variation with 4.51 and 3/5 with 4.52.
In my HW springers i get 8/9 fps variation with both pellets.
This indicates that the springer barrels are smaller than the PCP's.
If your into serious long range target shooting, then it's worth worrying about and doing the testing, if not just go out and enjoy what you shoot.

I have tried 4.51 and 4.52 in both my rifles (AA hunter carbine and Axsor Gemini), and found both to be very accurate, although the 4.52 definatley is a much snugger fit in the barrel. Of the two I prefer the 4.52. The POI changes slightly between them so I need to alter a click or two on the scope if I change from one to the other.
Cheers
