Question Been offered BSA & Falcon but which one?

    HI all,

I have been offered a BSA Ultra with Silencer or a Falcon Raptor in a P/Ex. To be honest I am stuck now and dont know what to choose. Which one would you recommend. It will mainly be used for rabbiting and a small amount of home targets.

    Thanks

They are both good rifles, but will feel different. Whichever feels good will do the job.

PERSONALLY I would go Falcon - multishot lightweight for hunting whereas the Ultra is a single shot.

I'd put money on it Pete.
even the 12" should give more than the Ultra
    better cocking system as well

    That's what I thought.

I've never shot an Ultra, but I have a bit of a soft spot for Falcons.

I'm gonna go against the grain here but what the hell, I speak as I find and having owned both rifles I have to say that I couldnt offload (sell) the Raptor quick enough.
That magazine and bolt system were about as reliable as a chocolate teapot.

The Ultra, although single shot, is a better choice in my opinion even in .177 calibre. The cocking system is far more reliable and it dont go "twang".

Falcon for me every time, I have had several falcons ( single and multi shot variants ) and I have never had a problem, ( the mags do take a little getting used to though! ) I have had 1 Hornet and hated it although I do have a soft spot for S10's

Agreed, my first pcp, a Falcon FN19 8 shot hawk was a nace rifle, and as you said, in the field the magazine and cocking action was fantastic and very safe, if not a little agricultural. But the pellet hit where it was supposed to and never let me down. id have another.
