What have I got? Piccies at last.......

.....You wanted piccies to help me identify my bargain (?) buys and you wishes are my commands!

As you can see they are bordering on rough and are mising a few bits. Top one is the Webley Hawk. How do I tell what Mk it is, 1 2 or 3?

Second from top I believe to be a Relum Telly/Jelly.

Third (bottom) and probably the least complete is a Relum 822 I think.

Correct me if I am wrong, your input would be appreciated.

Although they were bought to refurbish for enjoyment rather than to add/realise value it would be good to know a bit of history for each model and what a less than pristine but properly functioning example of each would be worth. This will enable me to gauge the amount I should spend on any spares needed (my hard graft/elbow grease will be free and unlimited in supply!)

Top one is a Webley Hawk mark (2? I always get mixed up with them. One had key slot barrel change and the other mark 1 had allen screw) and a couple of Relum break barrels.

With regards to the Relums, I would say that whatever you spend on them will vastly exceed their value.

Therefore, if you do undertake any work, you should do so because you want to and because it interests you, rather than for any increase in financial value. Just cleaning them up will be rewarding, I'd imagine.

Following Hsing-ee's guide to tuning the early springer in each case might assist, providing the trigger/cocking linkage etc is all up together.

The key slot was the mk1, easier to remove than the mk2 but didnt locate the barrel that well. The mk2 was a bit bigger as well, the mk1 being more of a childs rifle. Different trigger too iirc, thinking about it the mk2 was a complete redesign.

....Looking at your replies and the parts diagrams on Chambers it is a Mark one. Therefore to remove the barrel do I just turn the slotted screw and pull it out? Is it that sinple and is there any sort of knack to it (especially if expecting a little bit of reluctamce due to age/rust) ?

Hoping to strip, relube and reassemble my Milbro G27 tomorrow. The stock is looking a lot better after refinishing but I still need to find some 5mm metal to make a saftey lever.

If that goes well I will strip the Hawk to assess the parts needed. But before I do that I need to see if I can close up the breech jaws as it looks like some previous vandal has spread them a little!

So that means tomorrow, as well as finishing my spring compressor, I will be making customn vice jaw inserts to help with that job. Thank goodness I enjoy more manual/dextrous activities when sciving from of the office.
