Is that a drop of 3" from 0 - 25m or from 30 - 55m, if it's the latter then it sounds about right for a sub 12fpe. Where are you measuring from and to?
Also what calibre, a .22 will drop about 6" between 20 and 55m (depending on pellet)

Out if the box, AA set them up at approx 10.5 fpe IIRC. They can be tweaked and mine runs at 11.3 with AA Fields in .177.

The difference bewteen 10.5 and 11.3 is minimal.

Your best bet is to buy a Chrono from the sponser of BBS, JSR in Keighley. Then you will always have the gear to test the power of your rifle and keep it legal. Also buy some Bisley Mags to test the power (heavy pellet).

(Put the tin of free pellets in the post Ed )

You will not find on here details of how to up the power on any rifle, so a trip to your local gunsmith is a good starting place.

A 3” drop over 25 metres is not unusual, it just depends on where you measure this 25 metres from.
As an example: with my S410K (AA Field, 11.6 lb.ft, 30 yard zero) I get a drop of 2 inch from 30 to 40 yards. 3” in just 10 yards!!!

    Give me:
    Your Zero range
    Pellet you are using
Drop (or rise) at 10, 20, 30 and 40 yards.

Alternatively, just go and get it chrono'd.

It is unnerving watching the pellet fly out and arc downwards! I'm sure everyone previous to me is right, the airsporter will give you the impression of more power but until you chrono them both you wont really know.

Also as you are fairly newish here (although maybe not to shooting), its worth pointing out that things have tightened up considerably in the last few years. I remember 20 years ago we could wander round the fields and footpaths of Dorset with an air rifle more or less willy-nilly. Right now you would be in serious trouble for doing just that, and if your rifle is over 12 ft lb then you are looking at 5 years in jail. It isnt a slapped wrist, naughty boy time any more. The police are looking at their "targets" for convictions and you would end up a statistic, nothing more.

You need a legal limit air rifle (if the police are called to where you are shooting they will almost certainly take the gun away and test it) and written permission from the landowner to shoot wherever you are. Oh, and dont transport the rifle with loaded magazines attached.

I'm sure there's loads of other stuff to know which I am sure others will post.
Your work is both good and original. Unfortunately where it is good it is not original, and where it is original it is not good.
