Mil Dot reticle for Leupold 6.5-20 x 40?

    Hi all

I have been advised that a mil-dot reticle is advantageous for HFT.

Is it possible to fit one to my scope?

You need to contact Leupold custom shop, as Premier Reticles isn't doing this anymore.

I believe for the vari X-III it is 200 dollars...

    If it's a Vari-XIII it's about $150 (plus post).

    Have a look here.

AND, it would appear that my warranty is affected.

Why? unless someone else has had a go at it other than PR or Leupold.

I don't know, but the link indicates that warranty is not extended after 1 April 2006!

If its a standard scope, Leupold would repair/modify.
Its only scopes converted by PR after a certain date this year, mines last year so ok for repair work.
    Not really cost effective anyway.

    Agreed.

If I am reading the link correctly, it does not give a great deal of confidence in the work of PR.

Since my original (7 months old) Leupold had to be returned to Germany for a repair to a fault, I am loathed to void my warranty on the replacement scope for the sake of some mil-dots.

The scope was replaced because the German repair centre did not have the relevant parts!

The two fell out with each other after a very long standing relationship. All work is guaranteed on every scope sold whether standard or modded by PR up April? this year.
Add the fact that Leupold dont know or understand the complex PR work, they repair to standard spec then used to send to PR for their work which will be honoured.
Theres no problem at all Leupold converting to an off the shelf ret, all warranties are carried on supposedly for life. Ive seen a Mark 4 driven over by a Landrover get replaced by the organ grinder in the US.
