Opinions please on NIKON Buckmaster 4-14.5x40 mil dot scope

Could I have any opinions on this scope please, both good and bad. I'm looking to upgrade on my legend, it is a great scope but as i've mentioned countless times before the mil dots are too far apart to be useful as aim points. Will this scope be an improvement on the legend? Is there any quirky problems with this scope such as a 'wandering zero' is it temperature sensative?

I wouldn't say it was that much optically better than the Legend.
I'd wait till mid June when the 4200 S/F is released.

I've had one for ages now mate(since UKAHFT round 3), this is an old post thats been brought up thats all, thanks for the offer anyway mate .

Very good scopes, optically better than the Legend, I could not split the 3200 4x12-40 from the Nikkon, sidewheel paralax is also nice, very well made, turrets are better quality than Bushnell, much better, holds it's zero very well, never moved on the one that I have and it's done 100+ 62grn 3300 FTPs rounds now, biggest problem is that it's true @ 12 x mag not 10 and that the first parralax point is 50 yards so you need to reparalax it down to 25 ish for HFT which takes about 2 mins to do, this leaves you out on other range mark points but I am very please with the one that I have, I have now moved it onto a .223 reparalaxed it back to 50 yards on the first marker and plan to keep it there on my .223

Bones also can supply these to you or at least could.

I have a 4.5-14x40 on my wifes FN12 , stunning little scope. the side PA is a nice touch and re-parallax is easy to do.

Very clear and havent had a problem with zero shift.
Even better as i paid £150 for mine

Steve can you add a little info about the re- parallax ? Just mounted the scope but its set for 50 yards min.


I took the objective lens off and can see something to twist - is it as simple as that ? Gonna have to make some kinda tool to do it though.

take the front peice off the scope(it just screws off) then turn the lens outwards about 1 full turn should do, you will then be able to see extremely clearly at airgun ranges now!

Hi

unscrew the front lens bell (the bit with the writing) and you will see the objective lens with a notch cut out either side. just put something like a ruler in both of these notches and turn the lens out a turn or two.
Start will 1 full turn (outward)and see how you get on, you may need a few more or less fractions of a turn .

Just make sure you keep the objective lens still when you screw the cap on again
