    Hi All,

Having serious problems re-parralaxing this scope. Beginning to wonder if they have changed the model.

I have removed the objective cap (easy) with buckmasters written on it.

There are grooves on the inside and outside to attach my newly made metal 'tool' to. I am assuming I am working on the inside.

Steve suggested I should be able to remove the cap by holding onto the thread and unscrewing - doesn't want to budge. Nor do the inner our outer notches.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks
    Chris

    [QUOTE=phcjpp]Hi All,

Steve suggested I should be able to remove the cap by holding onto the thread and unscrewing - doesn't want to budge. Nor do the inner our outer notches.

At this point I thought the lens was still attached to the main body of the scope with just the metal band still in place.
it wasn't until Chris e-mailed the pic's that I found out that he lens had been removed.

Its not ideal that the nitrogen has escaped but it a bit late
    now.
Any ideas how these parts can be unscrewed now that they have been removed ?
the ring has always been very easy to remove on all previous scope which I have had to re-parallax

If it's got tits or wheels it’s going to be expensive.....

Firstly, thanks to Steve for all the phone support

It does look like the whole assembly has come away. Odd as it came away very easily indeed.

Following Steve's suggestion I didn't completely screw in the assemply and the parallax is now fine - not ideal but there you are.

Now grouping nicely in a 0.8 cm diameter circle at 10m

The tree rats will soon be history.

Thing is I'm not sure I could have done anything differently - I gently unscrewed the end and the whole assembly came away - whats a chap to do

Happy ending to my saga -

actionoptics are going to put the nitrogen back in and parallax it properly for me - phew.

On a side note - something I didn't know is that apparently one of the principal reasons the nitrogen is put in in the first place is to protect against the humidity found in the country of manufacture it also stops the fungal spores getting in that are prevalent in these countries too.

Actionoptics also suggested a lot of the nitrogen would have stayed in the scope all be it in a diluted form - so no harm done with my meddling.
