    AA400 Rail

As all owners of the aa4** rifles are aware there is no provision for a rail on the stock..

Has anyone.. made..had made..or is able to make.. a "slip on rail" that I would be able to fix a "support" to for the sitting position in FT..

    Any ideas appreciated..

It's not to difficult to make a wooden support
then just get a longer bolt that will go through the support through the stock into the action
you will find it's a great position for FT

    Hi Leons
    Yes I did make one
It's not to difficult any hardwood will do, I did round it to the shape of the stock.
All I did was to shoulder the rifle, then using small bits of wood under the stock untill I had the correct height for me.
This give's the depth you want
Find some suitable wood DRILL first then shape
    simple

Have made, bought and set accessory rails into the stocks for most rifles, the sort of thing i got lumbered with but no more mr nice guy.
Last one was an S400 with an Anchutz rail.
Making the palm shelf is the easy bit.

Only interested in an "add-on" idea..
Thinking about the day I may wish to sell, not everyone would want a recessed stock,,Would like to keep as original as poss

when you make your palm shelf drill the bolt hole first
it would be a shame, go to all that work then muck up the drilling

try sending a message to bluevolvo (jimmer)
he may still have my old one and be able to photograph it
    to give you some Idea

I made one for my NJR stock and I'm not using it. It will probably fit the 400 stock close enough. Email me and I'll reply with a pic.
