Most pellet tins will tell you the weight of the pellets
and most in the tin will be 0.2 grain either side of that
unless you are into serious FT dont bother with scales
just get a good chrono

Evening, all. I have been considering buying a chronograph of late, but from what I can gather from the membership here, that is pointless unless you weigh each pellet. I was wondering what type of scales I would require, where would I get a set and, finally, around how much do they cost?
Still finding my feet in this fascinating new hoby!

follow the advice about telling them they're for airgun pellets.
but like allan says, unless your chasing down ultimate consistancy at 55yds then its probably not worth it.
I only weigh them because it removes one less variable, but shooting at under 35 yards i'd say its probably not noticable. The discards i use for practice.
Recent wieghing of last batch of JSB exact 4.52s have seen a majority spread between 8.3 and 8.45, but have seen a handfull of 7.9's and 8.6's which looked perfect.
