    Leicester A.G.C. 2006 competitions

Leicester Air Gun Club will be holding a number of competitions again this year.

There are 2 formats, the first will follow usual HFT rules, and consists of 30 targets, these are starting on Saturday April 8th, with a 2pm start.Thereafter, on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

The second is similar to FT rules, but the scoring is different - 0pts for a miss, 1pt for a plate,2pts for a kill when sitting,3 pts for a kill when kneeling, and 4 pts for a standing kill. Anyone who shoots well standing up does well in this format. These will be held on the 4th Saturday of every month, starting on April 22nd.

These will run on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month until the final rounds in October. There will be a one-off HFT competition in December.

Entry fee is the usual range fee of £4 (£2 to members), and £1 to go into the prize pot. There will be one prize on the day, open to all, to the best shooter on one target - this is changed occasionally, but is usually a reduced kill at 10 yds or so, sometimes taken standing only.If there are more competitiors than normal, more day prizes will be offered.
Overall prizes for the full league are only open to members. There are different classes for tthe final leagie table too -.177/.22 and recoiling.

The £4 range fee allows use of the 3 ranges at the ground - all outdoor, and mainly covered.1 with numerous knock-down targets at different ranges up to 50 yds, another with seats and tables for zeroing at 25-30yds, and the HFT range, with no facilities to sit down. The ground has a decent cafe, plenty of parking, toilet facilities, and a well stocked gun shop, alongside a big shotgun shooting area.

We are 8 miles south of Leicester, on the A6, just south of Kibworth Beauchamp.

1 week to go to the first HFT round.Everybody welcome - you dont have to be an excellent shot to enter, this is an informal competition, where we try to help anyone who wants to have a go for the first time.
The course is being set-up from 12 noon for a 2pm start, the zero range, with knock-down targets up to 50yds, is open from 10am.

The first round went very well yesterday, with a top score of 51, mainly due to the strong cross wind. Thanks to all who attended and helped to set up the course.

The next HFT round is on Saturday 13th May, 2pm start.

The next competition is the FT style event on Sat. 22nd April.Again, all welcome, and newcomers given help if they'd like it. This event follows rules similar to Field Target shooting - sitting allowed, scope adjustments allowed, but to give it added appeal, a different scoring method is used - 0 for a miss, 1 for a plate, 2 for a sitting hit, 3 for a kneeling hit, and 4 points for a standing hit - get practising those standing shots!
For any more info, either follow up here, or mail me.
    Thanks

Just a reminder, the 2nd round of our HFT series is this Saturday, 2pm start. The shooting ground and cafe are open from 10am for practice, and we'll be setting up the course from 12 noon.

All welcome - any ability - if you are not sure what is involved, then we'll send you round with an experienced member to give you help.
