    No-mar Cloth Gun Tape

hi guys i was wanting to cover my aa s410 in this stuff as i want a cheap camo job on my gun i knwo this wont come out with half as good finish as hydrographics but theres no way i can fork that much out for it i was just wondering if anybody has used this, what your reviews are on it?
also i was worrying that because i would want to take it off everytime i went out hunting i wouldnt be able to oil the gun so would this cause rust or would the tape prevent rust?
any help/advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

    Don't do it.
Get some DPM or Flecktarn (an old shirt will do)
Cut roughly to size and attach with elastic bands. (Your friendly postie will provide the bands for free.... usually by the bushes in front of your doorstep)

I've seen an AAS400K ruined by sticky camo tape.....horrible.
Has the added advantage of being easy to remove to clean and for when you want it to look llike a proper sporter instaed of a military sniper clone too.

I'll post a pic of my AA410K when I get home later tonight.

As Pete said, usually use scrim if anything, and even then just on the shiny bits.

I have got no mar on my silencer, but it aint going anywhere near anything blued

I cut up one of those cammo gun socks, front end slips over the barrel & buddy bottle, middle section cuts in two & fit's over the scope, stock bit obviously fit's the stock.I'm left with a small bit of wood where the trigger is also the mag & cocking bolt.Sorted.

The scrim/gunsock idea is also superior to a hydrographics job in that it takes away all shine and reflection from the rifle. Half the battle is to make it as dull and not like a rifle as possible. Hydrographics look superb, but they still look like a rifle and still reflect shine.

No- Mar tape & Camo material

    Hi Jamier.

I've used No-mar tape on my firepower. Purly as yourself can't warrent paying for it to sent to Hydrographics..

At a distance it does look good IMO. However when in close inspection you can see the lines & joins. Also you can still see the shape of the gun.. The feel of the tape on the gun is a bit tacky.

    Firepower side view

    Firepower scope

I'm planning removing the tape & respray the metal work. Including the scope & bipod..

How it used to look note scope & bipod not sprayed..

As like Mad Pierres air-rifle , on my Webley Hawk I used spray paint, scrim netting & material.

    Hawk with cammo components

    Hawk with camo fitted

As you can see it does break up the shape of the gun more so than just the No-mar tape.

    Regards
    Paddy.

you thought of using that superflauge camo clad stuff?
ive had exellent results in the past using it, its water and oilproof and there because its pre cut it doent overlap, and when you remove it you dont get any sticky marks

    Cheers, no problem.

Another tip with the scrim you can cover the lens with it. Reduces glare from the optics with minimal loss of clarity.

    Very effective.
I'd still be reluctant to use anything sticky on my gun though.
