Brian - how long to Anston from LHR? Have to drop daughter off at 0700 ish and will drive up then
The round 2 of 6 will be held at Anston FTC on Sunday 21st May. (That's next Sunday)
Anston is just 5 mins drive from Junction 30 of the M1 - about 30 miles south of Redfearns/Emley Moor.
This is an open event, just turn up, book in and have fun. No need to be a member of NEFTA or the BFTA and no need to Pre-Book.
There are two sessions - first one starts at 9am, 2nd at about 11:30am.
It's a full 30 peg, 30 target HFT course shot to the same rules and guidelines as the national UKAHFT events with a couple of minor tweaks - you can read the rules on the NEFTA Hunter website. I bet you'll be hard pressed to spot the 'tweaks'.
There are no winners as such, so no shoot-offs to wait around for etc, no trophies, and no presentation ceremony at the end.
We do run an award scheme though - Gold, Silver and Bronze merit badges for those that reach the required standards.
The price is just £3.50 for adults and £2.00 for Juniors (under the age of 15).
The first event at Redfearns was a big success - one of the most enjoyable shoots I've ever been to, so Anston has a lot to live up to for the 2nd event.
Hope to see you all there
Brian

2 hours 28 minutes if you stick to the speed limitOriginally Posted by Gary C
Clockwise on the M25 up to J21 then onto the M1 up to J30, you'll be pushing it to make the 1st session, but should easily make the 2nd. The M25 won't be so bad at that time in the morning on a Sunday.
If you get stuck in a traffic jam and don't move an inch for 2 hours ( can't imagine that happening ) then you can filter into the 2nd session once you arrive and sort yourselves out on the zero range etc.
Looking forward to another great comp (Like Round 1 ) I just hope that the sun will be out.
I am reliably informed that the sun always shines at Anston
Dave.
Mr Calpin only has to drop his trousers for the ground to be flooded with sunshine...Originally Posted by HotShot

If you haven't experienced a Calpin course before, you're in for a treat
Anston is set in a 12 acre wood on the top of a hill, when the wind blows (and it often does) it comes at you from all sides and swirls around a bit (a lot!) in the middle.
Andy also likes to set the majority of the targets up in the trees to 'enhance' the effect of the wind
Oh, and the Sun always shines at Anston
Quick question Bri - which, in your considered opinion, is the best calibre for Hyacinthoides non-scripta? I'm told they're vicious if you merely wound them
Can't wait for this one - I have to continue my mission to mess with Woody's head
Paul.
What a shame, will have to miss that one we've got the Tawd Vale HFT sizzler round 2 on that day
