    77/97

Shot a hw77 today then a 97 and didnt really hear much difference between them.
They are identical internals arnt they?, i thought the 97 would be way quiter?.
Just lookin for close range dispatch and some fun target shooting and the 77 has open sights too, which saves on a scope.

If you're going to be using it for dispatch you'll need a scope anyway.

Did you get someone else to fire them while you stood some distance away? The 97 is a little quieter then. While you're shooting it, your mastoid is pressed up against the business end of the action on either rifle...

from what i remember comparing my 97 with my mk1 77 (from memory)

97 has silencer standard...higher cheekpiece...larger pellet port...no sights and the 97 has a spring guide to reduce spring twang.

97 is basically a more polished 77...it just took them 20 years for the rest to catch up before they needed to do it as standard.
