Could someone recommend me a CO2 Pistol?

I got a Walther Red Hawk a few days ago and now I want on with blowback action. So far I've only been able to find three pistols with this feature:

    Walther CP99 Compact
    Walther PPK
    Desert Eagle

Any others of note that I've missed out? I'm leaning towards the CP99 at the moment. Does anyone know what these are made of as I would prefer them to be metal (unlike the Red Hawk).

And before anyone mentions it I do have my eye on the Makarov, but I want one with the blowback action first.

Any advice will be received with gratitude.

Ta mate, that's one vote for the PPK. Is it of metal construction or that synthetic plasticy stuff?

    *** Cp99 ***

I have a CP99 Compact and am chuffed to bits with it. Gave it a run the other day at my club, was able hit a 12" square metal target at 25yds consistently, fired about 4 mags worth on one capsule (70 shots) and you can even prolong this by manually cocking the slide. Lead balls are a bit fiddly to load as they are slightly bigger dia than BBs and need to be encouraged into the mag by the follower every few balls, also there is a magnet at the top of the mag witch stops BBs dropping out when loading but obviously lead isn't magnetic. Either cover the opening of the mag with a finger for the first few balls or load a steel BB first. Power seems good (better than a CP88, more like a Skif). I was unable to chrono as I kept getting 'BAD' results, probably due to the blowback causing movement. Thoroughly recommend it As ever - stock up on ammo and CO2

Slide is metal BTW. Ordered mine from JSR (of course) but have to get spare mags elsewhere as JSR do not stock them.

Ok thanks for the useful input PV, one vote for the CP99. I've just noticed that the PPK is of metal construction like I wanted. Is the CP99 the same? Oops, just read your post properly.

Got a Smith & Wesson 3 barrel set from Michael Tawn - the 8 inch barrel is brilliant if you want accuracy. Fitted a little red dot on top and in single tap = would single hole within reasonable ranges.

In double tap, started to get very tight groups from the pistol.

Great fun, but I got bored with it after a year. Sold it to a mate who's wife turned out to be a complete natural and blew his socks off.
Damn this accursed slydexier, deslixia, slesdex-e-her. Well damn it anyway

Thanks mate, I have been looking at these (the 3 barrel set), but I want to try a blowback one first. I also want to get the Walther "winchester" lever action one

So many guns to buy, so little money

The Desert Eagle is briliant but also the loudest CO2 pistol there is.
My 12 year old son got some funny looks from the newbies at Broomhills the other week, he was emptying mags in about 2 seconds

I could'nt make my mind up either.

    So I bought them all

    S&W 3 barrel set
Beretta 92FS Nickel, silencer and match extension
    Walther CP99 Silencer Black
    Walther CP88 competition 6" Black
    Desert Eagle
    Colt 1911 Nickel
    Anics Skiff A3000 Black
    Walther redhawk
    Then the non CO2 pistols
    HW45 .177 Black
    Gamo Compact, target pistol
    Webley Huricane .177

Of the CO2 guns the S&W is the best for accuracy and the trigger, the Hawk is the worst, single action only which makes it heavy. The Desert Eagle is the best fun and the loudest, it also eats CO2 bulbs faster than any of the others. The Skiff is fun but jams too easily, the single action is the worst but you can use it double action without problems, even pulling the slide back to cock it if you want reality

Most of them from Ed as I suspect that these current prices won't last when the new law comes in

    Cheers

Just had a go with my Redhawk, you're right about the trigger mate. The only good thing is it does teach you to squeeze the trigger instead of pulling it, otherwise they go all over the place.

The HW45 is the best springer and the most powerful, but the recoil makes accuracy harder than the CO2s and the Gamo pneumatic.
The Gamo has the best trigger of the lot and the Webley is just a classic

All of them have their pros and cons, I like them all
