    BSA Meteor - HELP!!!

    Hi Guys,
As they say on talk-back radio, I'm a "first time caller"

I bought a second hand .22 BSA Meteor, and I was wondering if any of you esteemed gentlemen (or Ladies) could assist me please?

    A) I have been told that in the UK the limit for air rifles is 12ft.lbs is this true?, and for overseas buyers a higher rated international spring is available .

    B) The guy I bought the rifle from does not know what MK. it is, it has "BSA Meteor" on it but how do I tell which one ?

    C) If I obtain a new spring what else would you recommend I buy with it in order to restore/increase the FPS?

    And last of all.....

    D) Does anybody have the plans to make a spring compressor so I can fit it?

    cheers, Dave.

    Hiya Dave,

Welcome to the BBS. Firstly, you have posted this in the wrong section. You may get more success in the 'General Airgun Info & News' section.
Secondly, it is consider polite to fill the 'location' in on your profile.
With regards to your Meteor - if you post the serial number prefix (on the under side of the barel block in small letters/numbers) Im sure someone on here will be able to date it exactly.

    Hope the help

    Thumbs up Thank You

Thanks for that Ian, the serial No. is TH 39575, unfortunately a previous owner had POWDERCOATED the barrel (the photos on the web page were not very clear so I only discovered this when it came in the mail) and I had to do a bit of digging B4 I found it! I guess you pays your money and takes your chances with on line sales. As regards my profile I have made changes, Iwill try to re-post this in the right place now!!!!!!!!!!

    cheers.

'TH' makes it a Mk 5. Thanks for re-posting and updating your profile.
