BSA Hornet Multishot(.22) LONG Rifle ala John Bowkett (pics)

Well guys, you've seen various pics of my Hornet from the time I got it, my first successful turkey hunt, and the addition of the laminated stock...

Apparently I bumped the SAS Moderator and skewed it, more likely than not an angry sibiling kicked the gun case, anyhoo clipping issues developed out of no where a month or so back so I drilled out the endcap and the first baffle, clipping issue solved, but now its as loud as a tuned QB78!

So I decided to fix the situation and upgrade a little while I'm at it...figured I could check with Mr. Bowkett about getting another barrel with one of his custom FAC Silencers permanently attached to it and also inqquired about longer barrels....low and behold to my suprise, yes, BSA also makes longer blanks so Mr. Bowkett machined a blank, polished and blued it, and performed his magic on the end of the barrel for me and it arrived the other day...

Installation of the barrel was a perplexing puzzle indeed, John Bowkett definitely designed the gun to be preferably serviced by authorized personnel lol...he honestly must love playing with puzzles!!! After tearing it down about 60% of the way, I had to inquire and El Caro was able to quickly provide the information to complete the job...

BTW, El Caro, that special Imperial Cap Screw came out just fine using my Metric wrenches(suprisingly), didn't bugger it up one bit!!!

So here's a few pics of it, going to hopefully chrono this afternoon...dry fired, its definitely "Butterfly Fart" quiet!!! Length wise it just fits inside a hard plastic gun case....

    Regards,

    Tony
