got to admit,i stopped using them because ,of the problems you have listed.
shame really, they was an excellent pellet.
i say was for the reason that i don`t use them but, mate who uses them in a raptor, says they are fine in his gun.
cheers al
Does anyone use air arms pellets, do you find the ends are bashed in, why dont the add more tin to them to make them harder,if they're bashed would this affect the accuracy????????

Hi there, yes you are right, they are bad!
Some time back I phoned Air Arms and they said they know about this and it was when they are on the pallets and are unloaded and then dropped !.
I allso said to them about a good 40% were bent in the tin and no good(this was in .22)but bless them they sent me a new tin of pellets, your right !!!!
a good 40% bent,I don't use them now, pity they are a good pellet but it works out ie:-300 pellets, a tin for 6.50 na not me.
Newer batches seem better. AA had a problem which they have sorted out.
Try the JSB Exacts-very similar but better QC and fewer duff ones around.
Read a few times about AA pellets having a fair few bashed ones in the tin.
I always use AA and hardly ever get damaged ones, 5 or 6 tops in a tin.

I use the AA field 4.51's in my HW100T and have had no problems with them at all.

I'm back.
I have used almost a wole tin and so far have found 3 with damaged skirts, so i don't think it is a problem and will use them again
I have put about 30,000 AA fields through my S400, quality goes up or down a little but it extremely rare to find more than a few duff pellets per tin. The duff ones are usually down to mis-handling of the tin on my part, I have only ever had one tin of badly bent/bashed pellets, that one was caused by dropping it on my landing and the bloody tin bounced all the way down the stairs.

(")_(")AA S410, one gun, and I know how to use it.
A couple of months ago I bought a batch of 5000 AA Field 4.51's, checked every tin, no probs. My S410 loves them, 10 shots, 6.19mm c-c @ 36 yards off a bag.

You manually checked 5,000 pellets?

I've not any problems with my .177 AAs and find that they go through every rifle very well I try them in, just a couple of damaged ones every tin.

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in
not getting very good grouping with AA fields in my rapid mk1,been told to use5.52 instead of the 5.51 currently using.maybe some are damaged and i havnt noticed or my gun may prefer the other size?
did you name them all ?Originally Posted by snock

The AA pellets are simply too soft, they're doing the right thing for better spread on impact, but yeah, my last (plastic!) tin was well malformed.
Stick to JSB's mate, can't go wrong there mate
